Oh no this is fine-

I just wanted to see what others have done with a similar setup.

Theres no way to fit a lift in this garge the heighth isnt there.:(

This garage is attached to my house, its not huge and seperate like the others have on this forum.

I also lack rafters anymore so storage is at a minimum, so Id like to see what others do in that situation.

thanks,
Doug

Not exactly sure what you are looking for -- hope these will help.

First two shots show the exterior of the garage so you can see the arrangement of the bays. The 2 bays nearest the house are actually used for cars. The third bay, the smallest/shallowest, is being used as a dog kennel. Don't ask.

The interior shots show the cabinet system I installed this last summer. The tall cabinets are essentially to get clutter out of the house and free up closet space. The cabinets above and below the workbench are my play area.

Not big enough for major, long-term projects but gives me enough space to play. The two bays are deep enough for basic auto tune-up/repair.

Plans call for construction next spring/summer of a 30x78 out-building on my 3 acres. The building is designed in thirds: 1/3 for major item storage (lawn care, patio furniture, etc); 1/3 for kennel/stables and 1/3 for my auto hobby shop. This will accomplish two things: will free up my 3d bay for use by a car (dogs move into their own digs) and my 30x36 shop will easily hold 2 cars (3 cars once I get a lift).

THEN, we go back and complete the shelving/storage system along the two walls of the third bay. That will balance the appearance of the system and double the storage space in the attached garage

Hope this helps -- ask any questions

Craig

The Thing belongs to SWMBO. I have a friend in Denver who can rebuild VW engines with his eyes closed and garuntees them to be leak-free; carbs or webers. But -- my wife says "no dice". The current engine is a hybred between two different engines and leaks worse than my Jag. Its the 3rd or 4th engine in it and the body needs work.

But my wife loves it the way it is. She has 6 horses and keeps two of them across the road at a nieghbors place. She uses the hood of the Thing to move hay, feed bags and stores a saddle in the back seat. She calls it her Ranch Car.

I'd love to play with it and dress it up; rebuild the engine, but -- "it runs juts fine the way it is".

That's OK woth me -- more time and money on my cars.

Here's my 3 car garage. The picture with the shed is where I have my compressor. Gives me more room for storage and keep the noise away.

I like the shed for the compressor, I want to do that with mine, how did you plumb it, copper?

How much is the noise cut down, any problem with excess heay build up?

Like the 69 also post some more pics of it under the free parking section :3gears:

:

I used the Garage-Pak 2 bay kit and just added a couple more elbow fittings. As far as noise, I can still hear a little bit of vibration but not to the extent being annoyed by the noise.
