This is exactly what I needed to see. I recently picked up an older #80 but haven't yet learned how how to sharpen, set, or use it.

Thank you for sharing!

I have cards (Sheffield) I bought a while back. I haven't used a card scraper in years, but do remember how nice they are to use and what a fine finish one can get from them.

I need to sharpen and burr them and get back in practice.

I really enjoy using the card scrapers, and they're easier on the sinuses and lungs as a bonus. Biggest issue I have is applying too much pressure on the carbide burnisher, ruining the burr before I even get started.

My burnisher is just hardened tool steel. It's been years, but I don't recall using any force but the weight of the tool.

I think the cutting edge of the #12 & #112 are actually ground at 45*, not square with a burr.
