First of all guys I wanna say I enjoy the sight for all its insight on everything from building styles to tools ,I've been lurking around the forum for a few years on and off and I have finally decided to pull the trigger on my own garage. So any input you all may have will be appreciated greatly.I have decided to go with a pole barn 40x40 , It Will be built around a car lift. So the biggest back and fourth I am having is a building tall enough to support a 2 post car lift and not look like a machine shop towering next to my house, so me and my contractor have chopped the building plans down from 14 foot sidewalls down to 10' wall with modified trusses to get that interior height. But im also fearing the garage door tracks could be an issue.since I would rather not use a roll up door.We talked about running track up in through the trusses instead of just under. One of my hardest decisions seems to be picking out a lift. base plate or not, extra wide or not? any input or thought on this would be great I will be lifting everything from low profile sports cars to 3/4 ton truck. the two lifts Im looking at are the Atlas-PV-10P or the BP1000 Atlas anbody have one and wished they would have went different route? from Greg Smith equip. And any input or experience with them to would be great.
thanks
