So this is my first post here and I tend to make these long, so, buckle up.
1st, my name's Marshall, I'm 15, I love anything that moves. I've always been interested in cars, ATVs, dirtbikes, and you know the rest.
I've been lurking here for a month or two but decided I wouldn't post until I have a decent collection of tools. Well to start, I received this for Christmas.
I like it. A lot. But who is ever satisfied? So last night (1/1/10), when I did my very common CL search, I stumbled upon something and jumped. It said "3 drawer tool box, stocked with tools. Wrenches, Pliers, some sockets. $40 Call *******" So figuring it couldn't hurt I called and set up a time and place to meet this guy. He also asked me if I was short on sockets, as he has a coffee can full of them that he doesn't need, $10. So today (1/2/10), I meet him and take a peek at the "merch". Was initially greeted with this.
Not what I had in mind but whatever. Beggers can't be choosers. Then I see the coffee can. Filled to the rim with sockets. I figure it has to be junk sockets. I pull out a few. Taiwan, Taiwan, Taiwan, Snap-On. Wait.. what? So from there that was sold. So I end up taking both for $40. Not too shabby.
These are only sockets from the can, and only QUALITY sockets.
These are the rest. Unmarked, Taiwan, Unmarked Japans. Still half full
Lots of Craftsman, old and new. Fair amount of Kobalt. One SK. One Cresent. 3 Snap-On. One old Husky. Tons more I'm forgetting. Will be posting them later with questions. An entire set of Klein Nut Drivers. Let me tell you I love Klein tools. I've worked in a family operated electrical contracting business
for a few years now and have always had Klein in my pouch. I love them. Did I mention I love them?
Anyways. Came with a few Craftsman screwdrivers, mostly junk though. This one screwdriver like tool that I have no idea what it is. Again, I'll be posting that when I have more time.
So overall, I'm happy. Definitely have more than $40 worth in sockets alone, so I think I made out like a bandit. That's it. Told you it'd be long.
