So I made a "little" progress today... It's funny it's hard to tell that any progress was made... Went through another 3 paint/rust remover pads doing the second cabinet... Need to find some place online to buy in bulk cause they get expensive buying them from home depot but they work great stripping the paint and rust.
I tried the harbor freight sandblaster gun for a minute to get the corners but it just took too long... Even though I had a respirator and full face shield I'm still tasting sand in my mouth.... That's healthy right?
I got lucky one of my buddy's comes in pocket size so he was able to get inside a cabinet and rough up the powder coat inside...
Then I grinded all the surface rust on the slides then soaked in 3-in-1 oil to penetrate the hard to reach spots.
Still need to rough up the drawer faces and tape off the handles for paint....
It's lucky I enjoy doing this stuff (while the weather is nice) I keep thinking about powder coating or taking to a place to paint... But the cost just keeps adding up... So I'll prob just rattle can.
But I would say to anyone looking for lista's check out motorheadextraordinaire.com for a few dollars more and I do mean a few bucks more I could have bought brand new (rust free! And powder coated!) cabinets... I could be organizing tool in them right now!
Here's where I'm at:
Still need to take care of a little more rust.
