So Chicago pneumatic is not equal to Chicago electric stuff at Harbor freight?

Different company?

Clicked on it the first time and passed, came back and decided why not.
You guys peer pressured me into it :bounce:

To the question above- yes it is different. They did a spin off of two reputable brands to get their Chicago electric and central pneumatic brands.

I own both Chicago Pneumatic and Ingersoll Rand air tools for years and some tools CP kicks IR's *** and some tools IR is better.

Probably truth be told, Harbor Freight using "Chicago Electric" was a deliberate attempt to ride on the reputation of Chicago Pneumatic, or maybe just to "Americanize" the perception of Chinois products.

I think it's the former. Similar names are being used deliberately to ride on the coattails of Chicago Pneumatic's reputation. Central Pneumatic and Chicago Electric sound enough like Chicago Pneumatic to confuse some people.

This DA couldn't come at a better time for me -- I need to do some minor paint work on my Old Olds. thanks again, alpaca!

That reminds me of the toolbox brand: Stack On.

Amazon's weird, just checked again and snagged it for the $55.
And I don't use Prime.

Thanks, Guys.

That's because it's sold by Autoplicity, not Amazon, so Prime has nothing to do with it. Amazon has it for $105

$55.11 + Free Shipping
In Stock. Sold by Autoplicity

$104.99
& FREE Shipping. Details
Sold by: Amazon.com

Something is fishy.

I looked at the description and the photo.

The photo does not show the smaller pad that is in the kit. It looks like a photo of an earlier or different kit.

The manufacturers and vendors descriptions differ on the same page. Read them carefully.
I printed the page for reference.

I called the company. They transferred me twice and then I got Hector, who said I would be shipped out a kit with no sander. He claimed they don't sell the sander and Amazon listed them as doing so. He said they did this last month too. I told them they need to send what I ordered, but I didn't ID my order.

We'll see what happens.

Edit:
I looked at the CP website and it shows the same photo for this model number, and the description is for a full kit with sander, pads and sanding disks.

So "Hector" is shipping out kits of just sanding discs?

I did notice one thing:
Product description: CPT7200S
From the manufacturer: CP7200S

Missing a "T"

Worst case, Amazon takes back the order and we get refunds. The description in my order makes clear what we should be getting, with phrases like:

--Compact and lightweight for easy access in tight areas
--Rubber molded palm grip for added comfort
--Adjustable speed regulator to match the speed to the job

...so if all we get is a bunch of sandpaper there's obviously been a mistake on their end, and we'll be made good.

I see the smaller pad in the amazon photo. Its black on black so hard to see. It is a black velcro circle right above the handle cut out. I still hope Hector's bad news isnt true... sounds like a possible hassle if so.

This is one of the things I don't like about Amazon, the descriptions can be, and most times are very vague.

I had a similar problem once with something else. The vendor claimed amazon was at fault listing the wrong photos.

Was a huge hassle. Had to do the Amazon a to Z guarantee after vendor told me to f off.
