I went and visited the local water tank manufacturer this morning as i knew they were having a carpark sale.

I was first in line and came across the perfect tank right at the front. Some idiot had drilled the overflow hole at the bottom. They are going to poly weld it shut before i pick up.

5000L slimline for $1100
Also scored a 60LMP 800w water pump for $250
They sold me a cover for the pump for $58





I also picked up a 20L container of Euco Diamond Hard which I'll use to coat the shed floor. It was roughly $200

S, make sure you get a written warranty on the repair, there will be just under 5000kg of pressure on that point. We have seen a lot of tanks fail after welding. The best method is to have the patch bigger on the inside of the tank so that the pressure helps hold against the parent material when full.

I'll be getting a written warranty for sure. I think it'll be fine though. They were confident it wouldn't affect use of the tank.

And unloaded the shed materials



Then a bit later some other guys turned up with a digger and did this







I wish I had more time to hang around and watch or even do some of the stuff myself...

Got home to find the fence completely removed and the conduit run.



Also more shed bits arrived!



Tomorrow will be a big day of digging the trench for the drainage.

New fence posts are going in the ground today and they're digging the trench for the drainage.

Also I picked up the tank and they've done a good job welding it shut. I confirmed I get 10 years warranty on the tank and on the repair weld.



Just the right size to fit on my box trailer.

Start picking up the old "for sale" signs around the area. You lay them under the tank so that it does not touch the concrete and then they will protect the bottom surface of the tank, because the concrete expands and contract at a different rate than the plastic does and that will create a week point some where under the tank. Just trim the excess after the tank is full.

Also...be extra careful when fitting the brass *******/valve to the tank. It is so easy to strip those cast-in fittings, Use a tread sealant suitable for brass, rather than relying on tape to do its job.

Sweet! That is a great idea. The shed panels came with a bunch of corflute for packaging so I'll save that and use it under the tank.

Ok so there's a lot that's happened since my last update. Mostly regarding drainage.

The guys with the digger started the long trench down the side of the house and we decided to rip out the old house drainage and replace it when he hit PVC.

This turned out to be a mandatory job due to the state of the house drainage.







Each one of the old pipes came up choked full of mud and tree roots. The joints were all split and no wonder the house gutters overflowed when it rained.

Unfortunately what this meant was more work at the front of the house putting in new pipe work. It was either that or cut up the current driveway to chase the pipe. I chose the latter.



It was then finished neatly with some kerb adaptors and a neat concrete job.





And i back filled most of the new work this morning.





While I was at work my contractor also placed the trench drain at the front of the shed slab.





There's a fair bit of work with a bobcat to go to smooth it out for the driveway.

I've had to postpone the builders of the shed because the concrete guys have been held up due to a week of almost solid rain.

My job has been made 10x harder because of all the mud too.

Either way I'm happy with the progress and I cant wait to get the driveway concrete poured.

No chance of roots getting in anymore. All the trees are gone or well out of the way.

I'm doing it once doing it right. Put in 100mm DWV pipe thick wall stuff so it should never crack. And it'll have a tonne more flow.

S, I think you have done well, the conduits with draw ropes already are great, multiple drainage pipes to handle the high rain fall is great. You should not have any problems.

Yes sir. All because the council denied putting the water out under the back fence into the train line ditch.

Probably added about 3k to my build.

I'm somewhere in the middle of all the blue.

The cyclone up north has given up and its now dumping the last of its rain on us.

Concrete will be postponed for at least another week or 2 at this stage.

What! . They shut schools and said do not go to work if can avoid it due to the heavy rain predicted. I would be worried about flash flooding. So if it is business as usual for you then stay safe.

Chris Gratton Sheds built mine and it is a ripper. Make sure you paint the floor before anything goes in there. LOTS of rain today!

Haha Moggil! Can you even get out at the moment? Most of the time even a little sprinkle would trap you in the suburb

My shed is being put together by Kam Construction from Jimboomba.

I'll be doing the burnished floor and sealer before i move in that's for sure.

My brother was down here for a couple of days and said he was cold and wanted to get back to Brisbane?????He flew back Monday arvo, haven't heard any complaints yet.

Well we woke up to bright and sunny QLD and not much to repair. The big tree dropped a few small branches but nothing major. Now the sun can hang around for a week and dry everything out thanks.
