It's been a while since I updated this thread. Been making progress.

I installed roller door motors on all of the shed doors and on the carport on the house.01e1ecd504f0010e365a608d91a2b766.jpgc247588ab69a7499955fb34683cbdb47.jpg

Then I welded up a gate frame and hung it on the side of the carport so I can drive tall vehicles down the side of the house to the shed.

Of course I also added a motor to the gate with an electronic latch. Seems like a trivial thing but boy it makes a difference to life when you're not shuffling cars on the driveway or in and out of the carport. The motors make no excuse for leaving a car in the front yard now.

Sorry for the big picture overload on this post.35f0ad0b7132d80bed604ad9c70e95f1.jpg4658f151d8179b61858ed9ef98c5a73b.jpg6aea456a6235bc0f4bdbc9e54997e48b.jpg066aff78ad51763637b0479fdc6d82e0.jpg9363a63b5661d0bd6d7d64e2ea239e5a.jpge477cac5f60e7aa75cb80c3e95890dd7.jpg000eea710a784792e08569b0cf16d13a.jpg48d258318a3570722076f5d37030306d.jpg8d5a05017bdd046abe3d4c8537865f14.jpgf5ab5ddcb8ae1967a4eb25ae18b6a2fe.jpgb8180afa1d26d314488e1eff1ff7a5fc.jpgea490afaeab46fefdb86cb7f233ab2dc.jpg753095afbb907acd2459ebac80a53cfb.jpg63e0fbb744ea44af1f52f06965702a46.jpga150e02314ba626edb5870a2dfca0794.jpg64bfd9173957be862fb14cacec2a8946.jpg4d9c6b20d101c4a9d46e256128705f42.jpga4c434bc3081b414375834c53c664868.jpgc179de467ebcdd95d23f99f62e0fea5f.jpg23d82157c363a67ddb520d12d4c28e3e.jpge564b891a348aea5e13e0e0ee0af440e.jpg

Excellent work.

I'd read the thread before but just read it all again! Great use of space.

What a great project so far!!

Thanks for sharing your journey with us. Love all the detail, as I am in the same process. Once outside finished, on with lighting, and electrical.

Lift is on the plans for my shed also. Just constrained by budget.

Cheers,

Ken

I had this Kinchrome toolbox from my business workshop that was covered in grease and badly stacked with tools so full that the drawers wouldn't open.

Decided it was time to pull it apart and clean it. I wish I took a before picture as the box was filthy. Now it looks mint.

As you can see I'm missing a bunch of sockets and spanners from the drawer EVA trays. I'll be replacing these to bring the sets back to complete.

I'll post more pics when I get it all organised and have the tools nice and clean.0696e46adcb4e456b376d20215d0af6c.jpg30688dd2c355e75fcdd38e11f7ad46da.jpg5eb12d1c7596166fadf7feba1885d8fe.jpg78131020aaefe07eb67523f741cd1f46.jpg

We have a single older benpak at work, goes alright for a older jigger, all the rest are Molnar or rotary
How high is yours? All the Chinese ones I've come across are around 3.6-3.8 Max hight. Would have thought there would be comfortably enough room. Also what is your roof pitch?

I'm really happy with my bendpak. Fits perfectly in my shed. It's around 3.8m high.

Today I put together a quick bench for doing things like soldering and clean assembly work on. It is on casters but will pretty much stay in this position with the pegboard above it.

I re-arranged the air tool racking again and now I'm super happy with the layout. I'll update when I hang my stuff on the pegboard.76dfaadf9e18611fc3dcec3cd1170efe.jpg355cb68493b6567cef191738cdf328d7.jpgc8b53ff23d5a3af07195d02cc9d7d2e7.jpg62c74bd814e3e7e18f5d98054f56592f.jpga4c952442037eebb167bb47bedb1a896.jpg51375ed092710274a5a855d7d1268230.jpg

Printed some more spanner racks and hung a bunch of stuff on the pegboard.
Installed a light above the workbench. Probably going to put one above the toolbox too.cd3fc378e3f744fc5ae6c510f09ba311.jpg6c17ee3f8daebc92089e5c10412c30f3.jpg

Great effort Steve. I bookmarked your thread a while ago and have just read right through (lazy Sunday today).

Are you happy with the 3D printer? Aldi have them again this week I saw in today's junk mail. Spanner holders are great, I also am thinking of needle file handles to print along with some drill holsters.

How much spool do you go through ?

Cheers GB

Super happy with the printer. Have been through quite a bit of filament now. Really depends on how much you print. That one in the latest catalogue is a lot smaller than mine.

Btw I'm selling the spanner racks on eBay if you want to buy them. Might cost you less than a printer.

Just finished off the fences on the property to complete the colorbond fences all the way round. No more old wood sagging gates.9dc959920344c07cf1ca74c154671804.jpg444a12065e9849c6ed2b0073e7edad2a.jpg

Latest shed job... Grind all the rusting powder coating off my Jeep rock sliders and coat with Raptor Liner.

Setup a ghetto spray hanging rope out the back of the shed to do the paint job.b94215e54eefaf84e208ad3d09a8266c.jpg7c0d6e0f4d4cd56a862a84b432be8892.jpga70a70a704e59a25766a2f6b7eb36e27.jpgcfc63d63757906b482683f763726cd30.jpg

Steve, the sliders look great.

How do recon the coating will stand up under normal wear and tear?

Regards
I'm hoping they'll hold up to some rock scrapes here and there. I've had a go at them with a flat screwdriver and they abraided the screwdriver with no visible marks on the Raptor Liner. I'm impressed.

Today I welded up a mounting bracket for a window style AC unit. It's going above the back door so it's close to the main work area and out of the way of racking.

I had a fun time working out the compound mitre cuts for the diagonal braces on the bracket. I needed to do this so that the AC bracket aligned with the additional bracing the shed has around the door frame. It should be enough to take the weight of the AC unit.

Speaking of the unit - I've got one of the largest window style LG aircons that was a freebie so I'm going to give it a go in the shed even though I'm aware it'll struggle to cool the entire thing.

I'm hoping it's enough to take the humidity out and take the edge off a stinking hot day in QLD.

Next step is to cut a big hole in the sheeting and slide in the box.b86f18924b8c5970acf70aeb0c3aa4a0.jpgb863ab137f16b168fc26210722c08e47.jpg

I'm also a fan... Of big *** shop fans. Just installed 2 of these fans to hopefully move some air around the shop.

They are able to oscillate freely mounted like this without hitting anything and was careful to not have them in the way of a large car on the hoist.8d090517697d82c88a3faf0f2abe48c1.jpg7bf9cc80d7e4137fb2dac1f503f70efd.jpg

AC is installed and I'm pretty happy with the result. It cools the shed pretty well. I've just gotta seal it up with silicone and tidy up the wiring below.

I'll put in an outlet for the AC unit so I can have a nice neat writing job for it.c9e868fed751f5c02a6be355e8f517c4.jpg1422c5113d38b59e5126593fb3a89eb9.jpg

I've not done much work on the shed lately in account of doing a fair bit of stuff IN the shed lately...

I've been tearing into my Jeep in preparation for heading to Cape York in a few months time.

Put a dual Battery Box in the trunk, fitted some led light bar mirrors and got part way into installing my AEV rear bar and tire carrier.601757fbc235e7f6924efdcb30ce7ae8.jpg63fd2966e888497453a3343f83989f14.jpg37af648fe8238b3fba2882ad4f22fa98.jpg29ec5660acd86d4a89977484e1882624.jpg

Steve, that's going to be a long and amazing trip! That's like driving from Miami to Montreal (and still having 50 kilometers to go) with a lot less traffic. When does the paved road end?

I believe your GPS or Siri stops talking long before you get to Cape York. Probably the last airport or the first river crossing.
