Hi guys, Since I've enjoyed looking at everyone else's builds here while in the planning/dreaming stages of my shop, I figured I'd add mine to the site now that it's nearing completion.
To start with let me say that I had a tough time deciding between going stick or pole.
Really wanted the shop to be 42x60 and a pole barn was the only way the county would let me go that big, (without hiring an architect anyway).
Since deed restrictions prohibit the use of metal siding, I would've had to use vinyl or wood siding on the pole barn. With that, it ended up being cheaper to go stick built with materials that matched my house than it would be to have a pole barn erected with vinyl siding and a metal roof.
The downside is I had to build it smaller to satisfy the county.
Sooo............. that's how I ended up going with a Stick Built 36x50x12, 6/12 roof pitch.
Here it is
The fancy drawing I submitted to the county to get my permit.
The site
Footing dug
Footing poured
Brick/Block work done
Getting ready for concrete
Concrete done
Framing
Inside view looking toward the 12x10 front doors
Looking toward the 10x8 rear door
Rear shot with siding and doors, rear door is a rollup/can type door
Front shot with siding and doors
Went ahead and changed out the top panels on the attached garage doors to look similar to the new shop.
That's about it for now, hope to have my wiring finished in the next day or two. Still undecided on how I'm gonna finish the interior.
