So I have been reading up on garage flooring ideas as we just today closed on our new house. The new house has a huge garage which was my only criteria for the new place we found. I am leaving a detached 500 Sq. Ft. garage that also had a second floor which was only used for storage. The new garage is 37' deep by 29' wide with a 33' by 17' second floor that needs to be sheet rocked but is finished other than that. The wife has already claimed some of the upper floor space for her jewelry making shop. That was a little disconcerting but in the interest of harmony I did not argue. I have been looking at what I can do to cover the garage floor and I really like the Racedeck product. So I went to the website and put together a design I liked and submitted it for a quote.
Well I received a very nice reply from Jennifer today and talk about sticker Shock..........
Man I was not prepared for several thousand dollars to install the Racedeck floor covering. The quote was for 1078 12" tiles to cover the first floor concrete. So being that I have many other more important and pressing things that need to be done immediately the garage floor will just have to stay as plain old concrete for the foreseeable future. Kind of disappointing but I will survive and maybe someday in the distant future I can afford my dream garage floor. I an envious of those of you who have been able to install a Racedeck floor it looks awesome and seems to be the perfect solution.
Here is a crappy real estate picture of the front of the house. I will post some better pics later this week once we get into the house.
Here is the back of the garage I really like the back garage door gives you access to the back yard through the garage.
