Storing screwdrivers

So, I would like to store all of my screwdrivers nice and neatly in an order I can recognise. Unfortunately, opening and closing the drawers a couple of times and they roll about causing disorder (yes, I am very OCD).
The snag is, I have quite a number of screwdrivers, mostly SP Swiss and other specialist drivers - none of which are going to readily fit into the blown poly trays that Snap On drivers come in.
Anyone have any suggestions?

I realize you have OCD but look at all that square inches of wasted space!!! a liner that would keep them from rolling to much or spacers that would keep types separated [flat-philps-robertsons etc] would be more efficient in my view ,plus no slamming drawers......bobbycoke

I have a drawer with slotted handles in the back, points forward, and phillips handles in the front, points backwards, shanks overlapping. The next drawer above has other drives (robertson, torx, frearson, JIS, etc).

But cut foam and formed trays, as much as they waste space, do have their uses. At the end of the day, it's obvious what is or is not missing. Can't say the same for my drawers. If you're in a business where FOD is a problem, you can understand why this practice is prevalent.

That's a drawer I did for work. This is my personal screwdriver drawer.

My disorder will not allow me to waste so much drawer space for so few tools.

My OCD makes me store my drivers from front to back, not side to side so that they will not roll when the drawer is opened. But I have a screwdriver that is too long to fit from front to back. What shall I do? :lol_hitti

I use that very same Torin rack. I believe MTS is the original manufacturer but it's cheaper to buy the Torin labeled one. These are also available at Lowes if you want to purchase from a brick and mortar vendor.

I use Epco drawer liner and stack them front to back and back to front with the shafts in the middle. Ive had them in the same spot for a year and they dont ever move unless i make them. Nothing else even compares.

I just stick mine in a drawer and put them back where I got them from. Opening the drawer without a big yank helps to keep them in place.

This is before and after. I had the most trouble with the 1/4 extensions. Now I can slam the drawer all day and not have anything move. :)

If you don't want to foam/shadow the drawer, consider a thin strip of Styrofoam to stab the ends into to keep them from rolling, front to back is easiest though.

I plan to make a wood block, for all of them. Still collecting, now. Just got my Proto metric nut drivers!!!!! Looking for a deal on the 11 piece SAE, next. Then square and hex and I think I'm good.

This is the answer, perfect - until a new driver comes along that I HAVE to have!
I will find someone who does this local to me. For now I guess the Torin plastic rack will work as a stop gap solution.

IKEA makes a pretty inexpensive magnetic knife holder that would also work

Shadowing is actually very easy to do, this was my first project which took less than an hour and three yuengling lagers. Google kaizen foam.

Got the sunex rack too. It didn't help out my screwdriver drawers at all. It just became a reason to buy more stuff

I am thinking of kicking my screwdrivers out of my box and onto a wall board like some of the above pics. They aren't exactly precision tools in need of protection.
