So for the first time this morning I clicked on the link off the main page and took a stroll around their site. Their "Tool Vault" brand boxes are really reasonably priced, they carry 5 year warranties, the drawers have 100-200 lb capacities, and have great reviews. Now, although I couldn't find a COO anywhere, I liked this Strictly Tool Boxes chooses to work with only a few tool box manufacturers because they have proven their ability to deliver a high quality product at a fair price. We have removed many vendors from our site for various reasons. The primary reason we stopped working with certain manufacturers was low product quality.

We are certain many of you have noticed the trend for tool box manufacturers to make the products with thinner steel every year. For certain light duty home applications, these lower end products may work fine. However, for the automotive professional or a serious do-it-yourselfer, we found that these products cannot hold up.

For $1000 this is a pretty good deal, if they're as good as they appear. Are these HF quality boxes? A lot of people think HF boxes are good, but I own 2 Mac boxes and personally consider HF to be **** compared to those. Yes they're cheaper and everything, but a lot of people consider them "as good as" Mac, Snap On, Matco and they really aren't IMO.

Although I don't need one now, when I upgrade my garage it will be a good option. Here's the link to the one I like http://www.strictlytoolboxes.com/tool-vault-56-11-drawer-tool-cabinet.html

Well I can tell you COO is not USA. They are made by montezuma. It is better than HF quality (HF drawer bounce and feels flimsy as you open compared to TV).
Get the 24 or 30" deep if you can. You will not regret the depth as long as you have space to open the drawer.

i have a tool vault from them. its from china. very well built. never had an issue with mine. and like others say get the 30in drawers if you can. well worth the money. thats my only regret but at the time i got a killer deal on my 3pc combo set that was less then the 2pc HF set so i couldn't say no to it.

I bought a 56" from StrictlyToolBoxes several years ago. It is of good quality and the customer service was excellent. You can get someone on the phone and they'll take whatever time you want to answer your questions. At that time, shipping was free, don't know if it still is.

The box was as advertised, in fact I found it better than I expected.

I had already checked out HF [junky], Waterloo [have an older one and the newer ones don't even compare], and every other box brand I could find around here. I would not have purchased any of them.

They aren't SnapOn boxes, nor are they priced that way. Very, very happy with mine.

Call them, if you are on the fence.

OP: the link you posted is pretty much on the league of HF

The 30" deep is built with heavier guage steel, shell and drawers, which is in the league of Snap-On KRL boxes.

Like other have said, if the 30" depth boxes is allowed, I suggest you get it. The 30" ones are a better investment overall.

I have bought my montezuma la-400 from them and my current toolvault I would recommend them and I got extra drawer detents which I needed as I had drawers opening up on themselves.

if you want 30" deep drawers, and ultra-heavy duty...

The Extreme Professional 55" is it!!!

And...

It's drawer capacity is...

300 and 600 pounds!!!:rocker:

Albeit, at a higher price...

But getting back to your question...

I haven't heard one bad thing about the Tool Vault models, that Strictly Toolboxes sell, and I've only heard good things about them...

My Wife bought me a HF 56" for Christmas, so, I took the money I was saving for my 55" Extreme Pro, and spent it on tools...

One shouldn't scoff at a "Free" toolbox, I'm very happy with mine, it suits this old retired DIY'er, right down to the ground...

Strictly tool boxes was great to deal with. Shannon helped out with mine and then when I bought more drawers to change the config, he was great again. Would not hesitate to buy from them again.

The Montezuma is a great box. I don't wrench for living so my view might be skewed.

I can't speak for the website itself but I have a 72" toolbox made by the same company that makes majority of the toolboxes that are offered on the site.
I'm very satisfied with it.
It isn't SO quality but it's a lot better than anything you can find at Sears, HD or Lowe's.

I just got an Extreme Tools 56" toolbox from StrictlyToolboxes.com that is essentially the same toolbox as the Tool Vault toolbox you provided a link to. The only difference is the Extreme Tools 56" toolbox uses heavier gauge steel in the drawers, and it weighs 30 lbs more because of it (and cost $300 more). Other than that they look like they have identical construction and capacities. And I'm happy with my Extreme Tools 56" toolbox. I replaced a 36" Husky stainless steel toolbox that was about 8 years old, and was Husky's top of the line toolbox. My Husky toolbox is much better quality than the Husky toolboxes I see now in Home Depot, and the Extreme Tools toolbox is substantially better quality than my 8 year old top of the line Husky toolbox is. My son has a Matco 56" toolbox, which is even better quality than my Extreme Tools toolbox. I would say the Extreme Tools toolbox is about halfway between Matco and Husky top of the line quality. And Husky top of the line is way better quality than the entry level Husky boxes you seen in stores these days, or Craftsman, or any other big box store toolbox. Here's my Extreme Tools toolbox.

Is that the 30" depth box? The 30" depth box is constructed using different material and specs.

I bought one a few years ago and was very pleased with the quality of the box. I don't think you can get a better box for the money. I was so happy, I just bought a second box for my home garage/shop this past summer. The quality of the slides and drawers is excellent. Not even comparable to the HF or store bought boxes. just my .02

No, mine is the 20" depth Standard Series toolbox. And you're right, they are totally different toolboxes. I looked at three versions of the Extreme Tools 56" tool box that Strictlytoolboxes sells. They sell an RXE Series that weighs 565 lbs and cost $1500, and a Standard Series that weighs 705 lbs and cost $2000, and a Professional Series that weighs 1600 lbs and cost $4250. The Professional Series is the one that has a 30" depth.

I would suspect that the Professional Series is equal in quality to Matco and some of the other high end toolboxes. My Standard Series says it is made in China. I'm not sure where the Professional Series is made.

The Standard Series is plenty for my needs though. I think the steel thickness, and strength of the toolbox is adequate, and build quality is good. Everything is straight and true, and all of the drawers slide well, and the top opens and shuts nicely. The only thing I am a little less than impressed with is the detent style closure on the drawers. They are kind of quirky at times, and take a little more attention to get them shut all the way. And they don't stay shut perfectly when the toolbox is rolled around. In comparison, the soft closure slides and hinges in the New Age Pro cabinets I just installed work much better.

I have that lower cab in blue, love it. Strictly Toolboxes was great company to deal with, my box came fast and extremely well packaged. Read thru their delivery instructions to check for damage. Overall good experience i would order from them again

I had some problems not able to pull drawers with heavier load last 1-3" out when I first got my classic 72x24. Especially the 4 slider big drawer. They offered to exchange whatever is needed but I didn't and kept using it. Everything looked as straight as you would hope for the price point.

It got a lot better since i first got it last winter while it was cold in the garage.
These days just take a little yank to pull the last bit out. I was a bit annoyed at first since it was hard to get the sockets in the back. But it seems to be breaking in with time, the slides are tight and wasn't sliding to their full extension position once you load it.

I do put a little superlube on drawers that is heavy full of wrenches or sockets.
i used the lock at least a few times a week and it is working well.

Now I am enjoying the box a lot. The stainless stop is easy to clean

I know this is an old thread that got awakened, but in case it matters, I have a 72" box from Strictly and I've never regretted the purchase. Quality is top notch and it looks great (mine's orange). Had mine for probably the better part of a decade now.

Again old thread but definitely recommend them over the Icon which I’ve checked out in person locally and can say this is way more box at a much higher quality! Shipped quick, arrived in perfect condition and was able to use PayPal 6 month 0% finance. Mines the 72”x30”.IMG_7734.jpeg
