Stripped gear: weld and file?

Customer was glad he didn't need to order a new pump housing. I didn't snap a pic after welding this bolt on with some tool rod.
Last 2, another customer job. Wheel come loose on this hobby tractor, loaded wheel would have needed to be removed, pumped off and on for a fix, took me a few minutes to figure this out to fix a worn out hole.

It had smashed front end, worked but was super ugly and he didn't know it was going to be worked on, actually tipped me for this quick repair made it look lots better especially once we got the right color spray bomb.

These are actually my favorite types of jobs, I would way more rather do a fast good fix than fussy rebuilding work. All that **** is too tedious for me, I can do fine craft work but really don't enjoy it.
