Has anyone ever used the floor buffer with the carbide blade attachment to strip paint off of concrete? I checked at SunBelt rentals and they have one that rents for $70 a day. He seems to think that a basic 24'x24' garage could be stripped using it it about a half a day.

So I'm curious if anyone has used one and what the results were. For some reason I just can't believe the guys renting it out when they more or less tells you it is the best thing since sliced bread. :lol_hitti

Prices are all over the place for these machines. There are a lot of different models, some are real old and have been paid for many times over, there are vast regional differences, it's just tough to get a handle on rental prices.

Here in SoCal a shot blaster can be rented for $200/day, and a single head grinder can be found for $100. Sometimes the media is included, most often not. Where are you at?

So you really need to call around, also ask if there are any weekend specials.

I didn't know that Sunbelt had a website so I checked on renting a shotblaster :scared: $420/day. Ouch!!!! A little more than I wanted to go fro stripping some paint right at the moment. I did look at the link above to the other thread ( I didn't know there was one as I searched) and it looks like the carbide does a decent job of removing paint. So I may just go that route for right now until I get some better funds for a decent floor.
