I'm looking to pick up a stubby 3/8" fine-tooth ratchet, any suggestions on a decently priced model with a selector lever? I have a Gearwrench 81209 that I really like, but curious if there are other options in a similar price range. Thanks!

I own the 1/4" version of this Tekton, it's a great ratchet for the price. It is a good ratchet.

perfect use for import ratchets. cut them down to whatever size you like.

I did the same thing as knurlednut and made mine from a Wright standard 3/8” ratchet I gave a dollar for out of a pawnshop junk bin. You can pick whatever ratchet type you prefer for a donor if you like round or pearhead. It works very well.
Thats what i did.

Serious?
No way you guys made these... they look like they were manufactured that way.
Yup. Wasn’t that hard. The ratchet had a knurled handle to start with so I just cut it off leaving some of the original knurled handle then ground the end rounded and polished it nice and smooth leaving a knurled “knot” that gives you something to pull on. It was a one beer project. Give one a try for yourself.
I had the Gearwrench 3/8" stubby (81209) years back when Cripe had them for $6. Really good little ratchet.
I've since sold it off and gone with 3/8" in 1/4" body ratchets. Just found them to be more versatile when you really need them. The Snap-on 3/8" in 1/4" roto ratchet has been by far the most useful.
If I needed another true 3/8" stubby, I'd probably just run down to Napa and go with a Carlyle R38S.
FHCNF72What is the part number on the Snap on 3/8" in 1/4" roto?
I have a snap-on 3/8 drive in a 1/4 inch ratchet and absolutely love the little guy!!! Cones in quite handy wirking on motorcycles!
