That blue point one looks just like harbor freight one.

I have the harbor freight one, and its great for 7.99 or whatever it is. Magnets are plenty strong.

I made one out of galvanized pipe. Attached a flange to the side of a wood shelf unit, screwed a 12"piece of pipe into it,slipped on a rollof towels then added an elbow and a cap to keep it from sliding off. Cheap and sturday as can be.

Coach

This is exactly what I was going to recommend.

Yes - you MUST make one for your shop. Mine is a made from the handle of a window squeegie.

I’m late to this party but real simple an nice 3/4” copper wall mounted to a 3/4” “floor” pipe flange. Looks good real simple , design your own angle for wall or under cabinet mount.

I used the magnetic two piece paper towel holder from HF. I actually have them stuck to an old full handsaw blade that I screwed to a stud over my sink. It’s be there for 3 years without issue.

Just bought one of these and it works well. Bought it at lowes. It's easy to change and because it can only be loaded from top (the spring loaded tabs prevent roll coming out from bottom) it the roll can't pop out when pulling on the roll for a sheet.

I almost went to Harbor Freight to buy a paper towel holder but decided to look at my scrap pile first. Ended up making one that seems to do just fine.

only plumbers should make them out of pipe

electricians should use conduit

car mechanics should use car parts

woodworkers should use only wood - cabinet grade

framing carpenters should use pine or fir

I gotta say I'd be embarrassed to show a pic of the one I built 20 years ago when I was poor as all get out and building a paper towel holder out of scrap wood was the only way I was gonna have one, but it's lasted 20 years and 3 moves, so maybe it was OK after all.

I have got the ones from Menards also. They also make nice air hose and electric cord hangers.

Well I understand jweller not wanting to post a simple thrown together from scrap holder, but here is one I made. Nothing special but it works and did not take much time to make.

Another plug for the Harbor Freight version. Great if you have a spot to magnetize it to. Inexpensive as well.

Yes!

I have always wanted to make one out of 2 old connecting rods, and a piece of broomstick slid through the wrist pin ends.

I just don't see connecting rods big enough anymore.
