Sturtevant Richmont torque wrenches?

Saw a Sturtevant Richmont 30-150 ft-lb micrometer torque wrench locally for $50. It appears to be in good, lightly used shape and was calibrated a couple of years ago. Is this a good deal?

S-R seems to be rarely discussed on here compared to the more popular torque wrench brands like CDI and PI, so I'm not sure where they fall on the quality hierarchy.

Funny in that I found a vintage torque wrench today, I don't think it is an SR (at least not marked as such); so i will need some time to research where it came from.

Love that google...It is 100% official a vintage SR that I picked up today at a garage sale, wow did that guy have vintage tools out the wazoo!

A dead on clue was the two horizontal boxes (their own trademark) Be sure and look at the first two pictures.

Sturtevant was the first manufacturer of beam type torque wrenches.
They have a well founded reputation of very high quality.

With that being said, buying a used torque wrench is always a gamble.
An abused tool can look good cosmetically.
If you have another torque wrench you know is good, maybe the owner will let you test his against yours.

Grasshopper that wrench can withstand everything thrown at it and it the beam sets at zero every time not much need to ever have it tested, no clicks, no electronics, no batteries, no resetting back to zero, just plain Jane good old vintage no frills technology. (old school).

Very well made torque wrenches. Have a couple myself with no issues with their accuracy.
