Hello, Im a fairly new member and this is my first post. Im hoping Im in the right area for this post. I recently found and bought an older sun machine tester from the 80's. Its a Sun Interrogator 1805. I am hoping to find someone familiar with this unit so I can get some information on using it.
Now when I was younger and worked at my dads garage he had a sun tester that was an analog unit. His was bought in 76. Had the RPM gauge, dwell gauge, oscilloscope, Cylinder leak gauge. I remember dad used that thing every day. Dad is now 78 years old and has told me so many times he wishes he still had that machine. He always talks about the Oscilloscope Thats the reason I bought this Interrogator.
However this machine is a much different machine then he had. First is that it is a computer operated unit. The program discs that I received with the tester are for the years 81-88. It covers Chrysler, GM. Ford, Nissan, Toyota. But i only want to use it on cars from the 70's and back. I want to be able to use the oscilloscope and the ability to kill individual cylinders.
So is there anyone here that is familiar with this machine or can you direct me to a place or person that can help me with it.
I do have the manuals for this piece of equipment but they dont say how it can be used for older cars. I struggle to believe that this machine wouldnt have that ability to work on the older stuff!
Appreciate any help you can throw my way.
