Sunex Service Carts?

I'm on the fence about forking out $650 plus shipping for this service cart. I'm a big Sunex socket and wrench fanboy, but the reviews are spotty on the net for this service cart.

Im a 41 year old diy guy, who wrenches on personal my cars. The cart would have 300 lbs of tools max. This cart will be wheeled from the garage onto an asphalt drive to complete my repairs. I had a HF services cart, but was frustrated with the lack of drawer dept.

Any owners or pros care to chime in? Am I unreasonable to expect the cart to last 15-20 years for the money ? I dont have SO money, so $650 is my budget. I'm willing to listen to opinions and product recommendations.

BTW...

I have a 22" 3 drawer Homak trunk box, that's built like a tank. The Homak service carts however have mixed reviews.

Im not againt SO, this town is just too small. By time I see good stuff on CL, its gone by time I call. [emoji20]

I might just wait, and scan rhe classifieds here in GJ and time a road trip. I have family in SoCal, and there are lots of memebers here from Cal.

There good carts. I believe Matco and cornwell rebrand them. I had the 8054bk. It was great and the guy I sold it to uses it will no issues. It's about three years old.

A Harbor Freight just opened up in my lil town. Picked this up for $179. For the price of the Sunnex I can buy 2 more of these carts, and be set with storage. They will have 5 more on monday, so Im planning on picking up 2 more.

Those HF carts are pretty popular here on GJ. I have one and overall I like it quite a bit. It is very solidly built for a cart in its price range. I'm not really a fan of the plastic drawer latches though, but that's a pretty minor gripe.

In the off-chance that you hadn't seen it already there's a well over 2,000 post thread here on the gazillion different modifications/improvements members have made to that cart.

As far as it lasting 15-20 yrs, I don't see a problem with that. I have a Craftsman tool box I have had for 32 years and it still looks and functions great. And yes, it has been used a lot.

I think it has quite a bit more drawer space and chances are Sunnex specs it, you give them a little juice for the logo if you like it, not a deal breaker.
I moved some stuff around the other day to make my drawers work better to really talk me out of spending 350 I don't have on a new HF44. I said, I wouldn't buy till I sorted some first and that really solved a lot of the problem for free.
My Bud had one of the HF service carts he bought after a bit,,, after the used Cman box for 100$. Had a roller and a chest, never moved it and eventually the cart had everything he needed handy.
Bought the stuff he needed, wasn't a collector, bought a little on a deal and a new 1/4 and 3/8 SK set once, didnt really have 500 more in simple hardline stuff. No one paid any more for anymore and didnt care if anyone had 100 large in to a box.

I've seen this thread, but have always skipped over it. There are some awsome ideas, that I'll try out. That was my main gripe about my old HF cart, half the tools I had wouldn't fit. I guess with 3 total carts, and a couple metal cabinets from CL, I should be set.
