Just wanted to note: CHECK your socket set for damage. The monkeys at UPS must have played football with my 3580 socket set as the 17mm deep socket arrived damaged in a very odd way. The inside of the plastic box the sockets were all over as well like several have noted. I called sunex and got a new socket on the way, not their fault but annoying nonetheless.

Its so odd, almost looks like a manufacturing defect, but I am not sure.

I did put some toolchest drawer liner (foam flat kind) in there to prevent the sockets from moving around in the future.

That has to be from Sunex that way, it is all black, had it been damaged in transit i think you would see bare metal there.

Did anyone get one of the tool carts? The fact that they came in crazy colours was kinda intriguing. If I hadn't just bought a HF 44" I almost think I woulda bought a orange or purple tool cart from them just because it looked cooler than a regular old red tool chest/cart.

Got my 2568 and 2569 today. Drop shipped from Sunex, and the ABSOLUTE worst packaging ever (even worse than Sears). The whole box had fallen apart, the UPS guy put it back together. Not only did the tape seams break, but where the box was glued together broke. I took it off and literally laid it out on the table flat. NO packing material in the box. One of my blow molded cases was dented.

On the plus side, the sockets are all excellent quality, just like any other Sunex product I have purchased.

I don't really see how this is a great deal when you have to purchase something else with the gift card? Unless they sent you a check for the rebate..

my 3580 showed up yesterday, same issue with taping on packing and my sockets were all jumbled as well, in fact one of my latchs on case wont even stay closed. cant pick up the case by handle without sockets going everywhere...ill be sending a email to sunex
What was the response from sunnex on the replacement case? Mine is deformed (case bowed out least an inch in the middle). When I contacted sunnex, they told me to call place of purchase (CPO). CPO didn't sound confident on whether sunnex will send a replacement case.

my email has gotten no response, the cardboard trick to try and keep them tight don't work either, left side still comes undone.

For those who submitted rebate on multiple sets. Did you do one form for all items or one form per item? Need to get mine out to the mail

Thanks

I am curious as well. I am going to call sunex and ask a few questions before submitting my rebates.

Yeah I was waiting for more info before submitting. I don't want to screw up 325$ worth of rebates.

I only got in for $225 but I agree. I will try and remember to post what they tell me when I call. Did you buy from CPO? My main question is what is the original receipt? CPO sent a packing slip, but part of my order came direct from sunex. I would assume that it would be the original Email.

Received a call from Arturo from Sunex. They do not have an 'empty' case to ship for replacement. Only option is to either return for refund or replacement of the set.

I didn't worry about it. I sent three rebates on one form with two receipts and 3 barcodes.
Why should I doubt they'll be smart enough to figure it out?

Did you submit all its at once. Did you complete one rebate form per item or did you put them all on one form?

I called them before submitting. Woman on the phone recommended one form per item, so that's what I did. All of it sent in one envelope though.

Any complaints about the socket sizes rubbing off since there is no etched size ??

That master set of 3/8" looks awesome . . . part 3580 . . .
. . . but that would mean buying another impact !! ;)

i have a rather small sampling of sunex impact sockets but the ones i have seen were all dual marked... etched markings plus a stamped size

Every socket is stamped. That's actually part of why I was so excited to get this set. I hate when sockets are only etched/printed because it always comes off.

Also I got to give the Sunex stuff a workout today! Replaced a transmission mount and they were indispensable. In fact I used all the extensions as one of the bolts was tucked behind the steering knuckle. I used the U-joint and snaked that socket behind there and the Sunex impact gun knocked the bolt right off.

Compared to Goodyear's estimate I think all 3 sets and the gun are essentially paid off in savings. Of course those savings were for my roommate and not me but... still!

Anybody else's 1/2" sets come in different style cases?

My standard set came in a larger red case with the warped lid, and the metric set came in a smaller, newer design case with four latches.

Wish the standard case was as good as the metric. :(

Anybody have any experience with their tool carts?

In for a penny...
