Sunex warranty experience
I managed to bust a Sunex impact pipe plug socket.
Looked at their website to see how to get a replacement.
They have an online form requesting a part number, proof of purchase, and a photo of the broken part which I fill out late at night.
Next day I get a confirmation that they will replace it at no charge.
Day after that I get a FedEx tracking number followed a couple days later with the new socket.
Simple and painless
The socket itself I'm not so thrilled with. Pipe plugs have special problems. The head is smaller than the threads and there is a taper so they wedge in. They are often rusted in. The plugs are made of relatively soft metal so they can deform and put odd stresses on the socket. The socket walls are kind of thin at the square corners which are sharp stress risers. I think these would benefit from thicker walls. I don't think this issue would carry over to their hex sockets.
