Having a home build in North Carolina.

Builder submitted order to Superior Walls and is waiting for a delivery date. I am hoping for the best but I am expecting bad news like several months.

Anybody order your walls from them recently and how long was the wait?

I don't know much them but I looked into precast concrete walls when I built my shop. Superior walls is the one I found info about online. Every local contractor I spoke to (5 or 6 of them) told me they would not build my shop if I used Superior Walls. They all said they would use precast walls if that is what I wanted but if I wanted to use Superior then they would not build for me.

I never looked much into why because I went with Block walls instead.

Premanufactured stud walls for subterranean use is nothing new; but God, what a PITA to use when it comes to waterproofing, back filling, and placing slab.

I never been directly involved in a project using these, but have seen them used and understand the attraction- just can’t wrap my head around how you can keep these things water-tight over decades.

I’ll take “poured walls” for $100, Alex!

Look up GJ member tstealth32. He has a thread on his 30 x 40 shop build using Superior Walls. He hasn't had any problems yet with his project.

I sold homes in a new construction site that used superior walls. I would absolutely use the product but I never dealt with them on a personal level. Just saw the product and all the homeowners said they met or exceeded expectations.

There was a This Old House series some years ago where they used Superior Walls for the basement walls - you may be able to find it on their website or on YouTube.

Sloped lot. Perfect for a walk out basement.

Three sides Superior walls. One side conventional 2x6 framed.

A lot of the lakefront houses built this way.

I built a modular house and debated using Superior walls, but in the end went with old school poured walls. I was worried about water issue between all the panels.

I googled them and the first result was a class action law suit..lol

https://www.courant.com/news/connecticut/hc-class-action-lawsuit-concrete-0203-20160202-story.html

I didn't read the story, but it rang a bell from back in the day. There were a few neighborhoods down here that used them, and there were tons of complaint about cracks and sloping walls.

You should have read the article...it's not a class action suit against Superior Walls, it's a class action suit in superior court. It's against a contractor who built some poured foundations that failed.

Oh, it was the first result when I googled superior walls, so I just assumed. There was a lot of complaints down here, but it could have also been the builders fault.

I have a poured concrete walls in my current house which is 4 years old. I am not impressed. They have cracks all over the place.

Superior walls are manufactured inside in a controlled enviroment and are custom made for your design. They are insulated and already have the studs in place which makes them perfect when you are fininshing the basement.

The original question was about delivery times which I have heard are several months out so I guess I am no the only crazy one that thinks this product makes sense to use.

I would say most homes in my area are superior walls, followed by poured, then laid block. Delivery times on every construction material are probably extended.

Hole is dug.
Drain pipes and gravels are in.
Walls corners are set.
Install should happen today !!!!

Wish I was closer so I could video. Probably will take a trip down this weekend to check it out.

Walls are up.

Since it is a walk-out basement rear of the house will be traditional footings with 2x6 walls.

Hey OP, care to provide us with a 2-year follow up? Any issues or complaints with Superior Walls, or has it been nothing but sunshine and roses?
