I’m mounting an outside light on the utility room that’s attached to my house.
For unknown reasons, the previous owner covered the inside of the utility room w/ Duroc cement board, making it difficult to run the wire inside the wall for the last 3 feet. I can cut the hole to mount the box, but wanted to avoid tearing up the Duroc to drill holes in the studs and fish the wire along the wall.
Is there a way I can mount the Romex to the Duroc safely while meeting Code? Is there a product I could use, perhaps something like Wiremold? I’m not concerned w/ the appearance of the utility room, as it just holds the hot water heater and boiler; my concern is safely running the wire.
Thanks,
