Bob - Ha Ha - maybe not a bad idea. I have to resod the lake place as we lost all the St. Augustine with the heavy freezes the last 2 years. The weather in TX has been such that even the sod growers are behind on deliveries. I was supposed to get Zosia in June, but haven't heard anything about an ETA.
Cam, I hear ya. The city inspector failed us 6 years ago for water in the forms, but quick pump out and we were on the road again. My builder says the city has been very easy to work with - we'll see on this aspect!! The 10-day forecast looks pretty good. . . . . .

Nothing in particular at this point. I have 2 cars stored offsite, and want to free up workspace in the existing structure by moving one more to the new addition when done. That will be 3 vehicles in there once it's completed. It will probably hold 6 if all I'm doing is storing stuff, but don't have any plans to fill it up. But, I didn't have any plans to fill up the last addition either, and now there's a double lift in there and we're adding on again!! So much for best laid plans . . . . . . .
Cam, very happy to FINALLY get to this point. Some very big LVL beams showed up today - waiting to see how they wrestle those into place !!

YIKES!!I decided to tackle a brake issue in the ‘19 ZR1. These have the Brembo carbon ceramic brakes and there is a known issue with a clicking noise when turning at slow speeds. I had done the fix once before, but the issue was back. The fix is easy - remove wheels and clean wheel and mounting surface with brake cleaner. So, out come the Quick Jacks.
The carbon ceramic rotors are very fragile, so I found these lug extenders that help with getting the large wheels off safely.
Imagine my surprise when I pulled the front wheels and found this on both sides!!
We just returned from a 2,500 mile road trip to the Biltmore estate via Tail of the Dragon and Cherahola Skyway. I checked tread depth before we left, but had no idea of the severe wear on the inside of both fronts. That’s worn through the first level of fabric cord and the first layer of steel belts!!! Guess I have new tires and an alignment in my near future.

I bet it was Gary, that *****!. The wrong combination of camber and toe and it doesn't take long to scrub off a tire.
I had the same thing on my BMW once, now I check them a little more often for wear.
All that’s left is the remainder of the house wrap, soffit & facia on part of the north roof, and making an opening and framing up some stairs to access the attic in the new section. Hopefully the man door units will be in early next week. Then, on to rough electrical & security, HVAC, sheetrock and masonry work.

That ***** but not too bad. How soon you getting nail inspection on the roof so you can at least dry the sheeting in. Or are they requiring all the rough in to be complete and the roof loaded before signing off on your framing inspection.
Not sure about that - will talk with GC tomorrow on the inspection part. Insurance company totaled whole house roof, so we'll be replacing everything, starting with the addition. I'm also going to push the security company a bit since it's not just an "upgrade" but also replacing what was already there, just in a different place!

We had some storms back in April that I didn't think a lot about. When the roofer (one of our long time customers - I was in the roofing distribution business for 20 years) came to look at everything, he pointed out a bunch of impact marks in the roof and gutters, and we had a lot of granules showing up in the downspouts. The insurance company totaled everything, but I have been holding off having it repaired until we were ready with the addition so the roofing crew only has to come here once.
Mike, I was sharing the pics with my Corvette buddies at dinner last night. One said he knew the ZR1's were set up with pretty aggressive handling alignment specs from the factory, even the non-ZTK (track package) cars, which mine is. Since I don't track the car, I'm going to make sure the specs are a little more "neutral" with the next alignment. I knew the tires were approaching the end of their service life before we set out on the last trip, so I measured tread depth and, while a little on the low aide, it wasn't to the point I thought I needed to replace the tires prior to the trip. I probably would have made a different decision had I seen the insides of the fronts when doing the measurements!!
