Impressive. I made it to Denmark but not Sweden. I did see Sweden across the channel from Helsingor. My Danish friend refused to take me across on the ferry. Sigh.

That deck and veranda look awesome! I really like the color scheme and all. The garage/shop is also a great transformation. Something about an old building like that getting repurposed really piques my interest so much more than a new construction garage. Not to discount new builds but the character and interesting spaces of an old shop really appeal to me.

Thank you!

Looking great NTCRS!
Thank you!

The shop looks great, and I always like seeing the way / style things are done around the world.

The picture of your dog caught my eye, though -- is that a xolo?
Thx, yes it is very interesting to see how other ppl all over the world is doing :)

Yes its a xolo, one year old this summer.

Thank you, yeah the porsch/veranda came out very nice :)
Yeah I hear you, nothing wrong with a new built big shop but its often really nice character in the old ones :)

Very handsome!

I was introduced to a pair of Xoloitzcuintli dogs that an acquaintance owned a few years back, and have been really intrigued by them ever since. Really love the breed. Are they common in Sweden? My understanding is that they're pretty rare in the US.

Yeah they are pretty rare here in Sweden aswell, one or two "breeders" with imported dogs from Mexico..

I'm allergic to fur, but both me and my girlfriend wanted a dog, she said poodle but I refused [emoji12] And now we both are lucky that we found him instead.

Here he is with his white coated dad:

Hi all!

Been kinda busy for a while now with the "tire shop". Here in Sweden we change to winter tires during okt/nov-marsh/april so Ive had a lot of evening work during the last couple of weeks :)

Enough text, here comes some pic updates:

512bdc5580f8105c5cbc4250c7ed50c9.jpg
Helped a buddy to put up his new ****** for his 1200 bhp twin turbo corvette in his dads garage, didnt even have any lumber so we had to use some books haha

d1e2a4be016215e32c306c93db78bcc9.jpg
Smallest customer car so far, she came in and wanted 4 new winter tires, 155/55/14 so it didnt even take 30 mins until I drove the car out again finished [emoji4]

990db7b02b635d6cf84101719cbb7f5e.jpg
We've been borrowing my mother inlaws car for a few weeks, Ford Mondeo stationwagon -15, pretty neat car I have to say!

Some pictures of the Tire Shop:

Tried some plastic dip on the drifters wheels

And yesterday I finally bought a big air compressor, 5.5 hp, really need it now with all the tire work. Gonna install some air lines etc this weekend.

Cheers!

Just got all caught up on your thread. Man, your place looks amazing. You have done some amazing work to the garage, and the home, not to mention the Volvo's.
Im digging that you're still keeping the redblocks and making big power! I've got an old 242 GT myself.

Great build thread!! I love how a few relatively small modifications can make such a dramatic visual impact.

Keep it up!

I agree, that is a man-sized compressor!
Yep, and it looks even bigger in real life :)

Thx, really nice to hear :) Yeah for now Im keeping the b230fk, but sometime in the future I want a v8, probably bmw because of the price/spare parts here in Sweden :)

Oh 242 GT, pretty rare car these days. You've got a piece of history right there ;)

Thank you, yeah some cleaning, colour, lights and keeping the place tidy will do more than you think :)

Great to see this! Super nice workshop and house. One day i'll find such a place too :bounce:

I visited Sweden a few times, always had a great time there!

Like the volvo-holset, thats a big turbo!
I daily drive a turbo swapped 240 and some more turbo swapped volvo's in the family. And some projects, from amazon to 760 t6 swap.

A nice big Köping lathe would be nice in the shop! Many good older brands to be found, i would look at TOS, Okuma too, not as common and wanted as many German brands and just as good. At least over here. My Okuma can handle 20" rims easily :)

Common here for people in the snow to have two sets of wheels and tires, one for summer and one for winter. Road departments put out a lot of salt to keep the roads clear and it does not take long for winter driven cars to start rusting underneath. So people with expensive cars will keep a rotted out junker for use in the winter.

A Drift-Air compressor for working on the drift car. :)

Hehe yeah what a coincidence ;)

That's the hardest part!! Hahaha! I always struggle with that crucial last step.

Nah thats the best part of a project :D

Hi Botje.

Thank you very much, yes Im looking for a big old lathe, just too bad that everyone I see on sale is located toooooo far away :p

Your projects sounds interesting, my favourite volvo is 740/760 and the aluminum engines :)

Just finished reading from the start. Really impressed with the speed you have done everything. Good job!
It's really funny to see what people from around the world has to say about stuff that for me looks like home (because it is :) ) and beeing done just like I would do it myself.

I'm a Saab guy myself but do enjoy a good Volvo build. In Sweden you are either a Saab or a Volvo guy. It's something we are raised with. Guess you guys in the states see GM/Ford the same way?

Was funny to see the tire shop setup. Looks pretty similar to mine but my garage is just a big mess right now. I'm still missing the huge compressor. Did you get it from duabhuset or vertygsboden? One of them sell those drift-air ones right?

Cool place and cars! Not sure how I missed this thread before. My wife and I spent 6 weeks in Vasteras in 2011 (I was there for work) and really enjoyed it, lots of very cool old cars too. But that was in the middle of your summer, not sure I really want to go over there in winter...

Hi Jocke, nice name btw, we share it ;)

Thank you for your kind words :) Do you have a thread here?

Yes I bought it from Duabhuset, 7000 kr, cheaper than most of the other stores.

Exactly, you do not want to live here in the winter hehe, Australia seems like a much better choice ;)

No, no thread. "Unfortunately" I bought a fempty garage that came with the new house almost four years ago. The pace with things seem to happen at my place would be the dullest thread ever :)
I try to improve the garage but there seem to always be such a mess with different projects all over the place. Cars, bikes, motorcycles, stuff broken by the kids or stuff that are beeing modified for various reasons.
Actually I bought a new compressor on blocket yesterday. Will pick it up tomorrow. I think it's from Bauhaus originally. 200l / 4hp will be perfect I think. Got it for about half of what it cost new :)

Love the Volvo haven you've got going! I like the surrounding lot as well.

I've had '86 and '89 240 wagons and a '90 740 Turbo wagon in the past. Now I've got a '65 122/Amazon and I wish I had a garage like yours to put it in!

Snyggt jobbat med allt! Vilket drömgarage alltså, skönt att få plats med allt va?

Keep it up!
Tack så mycket! Ja det är skönt att kunna planera och använda garaget lite bättre, dock så fylls det ju upp ganska fort :)

Great looking home and shop.
Also great to see another Swede on here.

Anders
Thank you Anders! Where are you located? MVH

Hi guys!

Its been a while since my last update, due to misc stuff.

First of all, my girlfriend since 3 years broke up with me in the beginning of december. The relationship had been cracking for a while, and at last we broke up, I bought out her share of the property, she moved out and I started to think of what I wanna do with "my life". No big changes, just that from now on, I'm only gonna do stuff that I wanna do and what makes me happy :)

So I threw out all the christmas decorations she left, started with some interior changes/improvements in the house, had some nice partys with good friends, drank lots of beer and just enjoyed the single life ;)

I can now work long hours at work (making some pretty good money now actually), I can do what I want in the shop, and when I want! I've done quite a few maintance and service work on a bunch of cars, changed a lot of tires for customers etc etc. Life is all good!

Well here comes a few pictures, feel free to ask questions if it interests you :)

Bought a new daily, Volvo V70N T5 '05 with black interior, automatic gearbox etc etc. Very pleased with it.. $2600 (Y)

Here's the other side of the room. My ex girlfriend had some shelfes and stuff there, and it looked so empty when she took it with her. So I cut some trim, cut some alu tin I had from the garage remodel and put it up on the wall, bought a used brown leather couch, a black fluffy carpet and a old looking table. Perfect with another beer spot ;)

View media item 67843
Also another friend of mine is keeping his Cadillac deville '61 in my garage during the winter. Low on bags, 20" wheels, patina paint etc etc
View media item 67845
The shop looks really crowded atm, but that's mostly because of the caddy, and my white volvo is pushed forward as much as possible due to so I can use the space over my oil pit so I can do oil changes and service on other peoples cars :)

This weekend Im gonna sell my ECU in the white 940, and then take out the engine and gearbox and try to sell it. Next project with this car will probably be a BMW M60B40 or maybe a LS-engine if I can find a good one for a fair price. Later on Im gonna turbo the **** out of it!

Later!

You've been busy!

Love the V70 they are great daily drivers and lots of space for hauling stuff around (friends, beer, a small house [emoji6]).

Keep the updates coming! Especially looking forward to the engine swap!

The money I got should probably be almost enough for the bmw engine build.

Hooked up a trailer and went a bit south last friday and bought an engine and a gearbox with missing second gear for cheap money.

Hi guys, hope your'e all well. I keep on grinding on with work and the various projects. Here's a little quick update:

View media item 69472Bought new cheap summer wheels for the V70n, 19" Volvo R alu and I put on some new tires, 215/35 from china.

Here is a setup of wheels that I mounted for a customer, brand new shiny 19" with 215/35 tires. This was my first "brand new set" for customer.
View media item 69473
Mounted on the car, worth pretty much the same money as the car it self
View media item 69474
Another set of brand new wheels, 18" all black with 225/45 for a Kia Cee'd
View media item 69475
And some 20" for an Audi A6 avant, also brand new. Nemas problemas :D
View media item 69476
Back to my own projects..

I tared out the old garage door in the small garage (that I use for storing lumber and woodwork/tire storing
View media item 69477
Got this garage door from a friend om mine, 200$, looks and works fine.
View media item 69478
Built a new straight frame and installed the over head door, here its up
View media item 69479
And here its down and locked up
View media item 69481
After that I pre cut and started to paint some siding for the front of the garage. Next up is to wash the old siding and then install the new and paint everything once again.

Tomorrow I have several customer cars to change from winter tires to summer tires so I'll just have to see how much time I get over :)

Look at you moving up in the world with NEW tires! nice work as usual it is nice to see you doing well!

Could you please take a pic of the new garage door from the inside with it open? With that style is there no overhead hardware and it is all held up by the frame on the sides?

Hi! Hehe yes, you gotta love new fresch stuff rather than crappy old winter setups..

Exactly, no overhead hardware, only held up by some thin springs and a bended pipe on the sides.
Here are some pictures for you:

Also managed to finish the front wall on the garage, will paint everything in a couple of weeks or so when the temperature is a lil bit warmer

View media item 69497
Next on the to do list is to remove the two crappy doors on the side wall and fill the remaining door holes with new bricks etc..
