Switch Requirement for Ceiling Fan

So I have a ceiling fan with remote control. It has no light bulb section.

I wired 120vac to it, it works perfectly, on, off, 6 "gears" and reverse.

But I have no wall switch, seems like I am doing something wrong. I can still add this but I'm closing in on hanging the first sheet of drywall....so.....

Is there a code requirement to have a typical on-off wall-switch to control the ceiling fan?

Not sure on code, (don't think it is required) but how the heck do to turn it on? What happens when the remote **** out?

For the record, all mine have 2 switches, 1 for light and 1 for fan. Would rather have the convenience, even if I always level it "On" and use a remote.

Yes, I thought of "future needs" for another replacement fan (someday) without a remote. Probably not a light but why not run the 14-3 while I can.....

Code requires (if I recall correctly) each “lighting outlet” to have a wall switch article 210 I think... and I think the box where the fan is would be considered a lighting outlet, whether a light is currently there or not.

Edit: I’m wrong, it looks like 210.70 says “at least one” lighting outlet needs a switch, but not all, so maybe it’s good?

Some newer fans recommend not switching power on and off from a switch, they're intended to be only controlled via the remote control.

Quite a nuisance if you ever have problems with the fan, but its how all my ceiling fans are in my house currently.

I'd at least put a wire and box in the wall. Blank it for now but it will be there when you need it. I am not a fan of the remote control ceiling fans.

I dunno about code, but I put a switch on my ceiling fan even though it have a wireless remote. Just in case I needed to service that thing or lost the remote etc.

I second, a double box and a 14/3 run to the fan would be how I would handle it on my house. Even if you don't put 2 switches on the fan for now, I personally hate remotes and want to have a switch for the fan and light at the door.
