If you actually think about it, they take up more space and offer less storage capacity in use than a conventional rectangular drawer tool box.
It really depends on how the proportions are laid out compared to a regular tool box.
If the drawers are really deep compared to their width, than you would lose a bunch of space due to the arc needed for the drawer to pivot open. The largest waste of space would be if the depth and width of the drawer were equal.
The wider the drawer is compared to its depth, the less space would be lost compared to a rectangular drawer. Some of the smaller truck and benchtop boxes the company makes, don't seem to have that much space loss.
Unfortunately it's hard to tell how much actual drawer space you really get with the boxes, since the manufacturer doesn't have blueprints showing drawer dimensions, or drawer swing, on their website. If they did it would be easier to tell whether the user would be losing appreciable drawer space compared to other boxes.
One disadvantage to these boxes would be if you purchase your tools in pre-made modules for storage since most modules are rectangular and would fit in the wedge shape. If you have fitted drawer foam custom made for your tools this would likely not be a problem, and the arc shape would likely fit graduated length wrench sets well.
The drawers to the Swivel units have an advantage in a messy workplace in the way they're made and designed. The lack of roller or friction bearings mean if something unpleasant gets spilled on your box when the drawers are opened, it's not going to get all over, and into the bearings, and the box would be far easier to thoroughly clean afterward. The same would be true of abrasive dust. Each of the drawers have a grease fitting to keep the pivot lubed.
If I have one main complaint with the design, it's that the empty wedge could have been used for a locker, possibly accessible from both side and rear it the box was used as a mobile unit. The manufacturer could have put some hooks or a pry bar rack in the space as an option.
I actually like the design but don't have the funds to purchase one at the moment. Plus I would probably be more interested in to half wide units rather than the double wide.
I presume those may be from a dealer since a couple of them are special order colors.
Another advantage is you wouldn't hear that vibrating metal drawer sound every time you open a drawer.
Oh, the boxes are made in Canada.
