The monthly meetings are designed to try and learn skills, have fun, and try and help someone out. Our last meeting we had a car that belongs to a single mum that she said was "broken". She needed money, so we cleaned it out, serviced it, and stuck it on Ebay for her. So the idea is to try and use our love of all things mechanical to help out others.

Very inspirational, well done.

Thanks guys!

Dubber, I have had a love for vw cars from way back. I have owned 1956 through to 1968 models (Bugs and Kombi), but never a "newer" one. I love your efficient use of a single car space.

I have been busy throwing stuff out (I know, radical move. I have already regretted some of my actions!). I hope to have some updated pics soon. In the meantime the Honda CB450 has crawled along very slowly. I prepped some engine mounts for painting and started stripping paint off an old alloy rear fender to see how it would look on the bike.

So, I had a major clean out of the Shed. It is now much easier to make progress with some projects!

I realised that I had all these drawers which I had never put stuff in. Instead, I had lots of bits and pieces in containers. I have now filled up a lot more drawers and thrown out lots of empty containers. I am yet to label the drawers, so some times it is a bit of a lottery finding things!

We had one of our Shed Nights last Friday. We fixed up a lawn mower to sell for charity, and started another project. Had a couple of news guys come along. It was a good night to have the fire going!

Lookin good mate, you have a lot of good storage draws but i would have to label each one, otherwise i would search every draw to find what im looking for.

Sorry to have been so quiet on the Shed front. I have been very busy with life in general, but I have also been busy making some improvements to the Shed, sorting out rubbish and moving on some projects. Yep, you can move projects on if you decide you are not going to get around to them!

I managed to find the following Yamaha SR250 sitting in a guys front yard. Having watched some episodes of American Pickers, I decided to knock on his door. $200 latter...

As I already had two (too many) bikes, I sold it on for more!

So I visited a mate in country NSW who owns a number of shed. I have photographed a few before. This one is on a new property he has purchased. Not sure how old it is, but it has been made from old tar drums that were flattened out. It looks very dry, but I believe they have had some more rain since the photo was taken.

The chimney and fireplace were also made from old tin. It is just one big room, so I am not sure if it was ever intended as a house.

Awesome shed and great photos. If you want to offload any of those drawers then let me know! I've been looking for some for a while.

Is this the "Mens Sheds" idea? They are taking off in Ireland at the moment and I heard the idea comes from Australia - where there a lot of Irish right now :rocker:

The Men's Sheds are generally community owned and operated. My shed is different simply because it is privately owned and operated. The idea behind the Men's Shed movement is to provide community for older guys who have perhaps retired and lost their shed, or simply have more time available. They try and promote community and alleviate issues such as depression.

Australia has a lot of depression issues, with having to cope with lots of Irish visitors! :lol_hitti
