Some saw fences only clamp on the front rail is your's like that? If so it might be the fence is just flexing when you make a cut. If that's the case you'd have to add something to stiffen up the fence or get a better fence.

You can buy or make some pretty nice after market fences. It's basically a big T square with no flex and a way to clamp it onto the front.

should be a long threaded rod through the fence culminating with a locknut on the far end, which clamps a piece of flat stock against the rear of the table.

check if the flat stock is bent. craftsman fences are ****, or I should say, if the fence needs a rear clamp, it is ****...

In general I definitely agree but my father had a cabinet saw made in Beloit, Wi. that had a front and rear clamp with rollers on each end. It always clamped up dead solid and very square. Sorry, I can't remember the company name. It was a very small outfit. My son inherited the saw and it still lives. It would have been made around 1950.

I had a 50's King-Seeley table for many years. I ALWAYS used a c-clamp on the back end of the fence. Also used a carpenter square for every setting. That fence was total POS.

The thing I always hate about the fences, low end ones at that, that clamp at both ends is if it's not square before you clamp it, it's darn sure not square after you clamp it. But they do have advantages, especially if using accessories that attach to the fence.

Pics of what you are adjusting that isn't working would be a good start.
