Darn... I was going to the Suwanee store this afternoon...

I got 4 for 23.99 at the Norcross store... Had to "discuss" with the manager and he called 1060 to verify. Once he did that he matched it.

Glad I got in on this deal - I missed the clearanced rolling tool boxes (about 9 months ago) and the gladiator cabinets...

Got to thank you BDBLK2K3. Picked the last one in my local store up today. I'm in MI and I brought in the print out as recommended and they price matched without too much hassle. When the girl asked the manger for a price override approval, you should have seen the look on his face. $79.99 marked down to $23.99! He looked like he just soiled himself. Once again the good 'ol Garage Journal helps me out. I bet these stores hate networks of people like us.

I was/am in the market since christmas for my shop, and haven't been happy with the regular pricing. I am about to install alot of new compressed air service in my shop as soon as the temps hit 40+ so timing is perfect.

JXXXXX and others its really not that hard follow along here go to the lowes site and click on find another store up in the right corner of the screen. Then put 1060 into the box on the screen and click find. When the next page pulls up click on shop this store on the left of the screen . On the next page scroll down to tools and click on air tools and pneumatics. Then click on air tool accessories and the top left item will be the reel for $23.99 click on it to open the new page and once open print the page and take it with you . There are a pile of guys who have taken advantage of this deal Myself included the stores are required to match the other stores prices by corporate .

Last night I did just that...Went on the Lowe's website, punched in the Hose reel and then the location. Up came the $23.99 price. I then Printed that out and threw it in my car.

On my Daily running around (I'm a service tech) I stopped in a Lowes in Lake in the Hills, Illinois and found the Task Force Hose reel marked down to $50. (from $79)

I Grabbed one (they had 2 left) and found the Lowes "Acting Manager", because every department manager was in a meeting at that time. Showed him the printout...explained that I had just got that off of their website last night. He marched me up to the check out counter and explained everything to the cashier. She did not have a choice in the computer (nothing in there about matching their own stores pricing), that would work...he told her to run it a different way, and I walked away with a $79 Hose Reel for $25.79 out the door.

I was told that...If you see something at another store...they will match that price and then take off another 10%. Just make sure you get everything in black and white.

Thanks Guys...Without Garage Journal...I would be spending more money than I really needed to...

Damn, I picked up a few at $41.99 like a month ago (made a thread about it too) and thought that was a deal. I'm gonna try and have them pricematch the $23 .

I just went to my local Lowe's, grabbed the last two off of the shelf (marked $79.99) and showed them a printout from another local store where they were marked $23.99, and after about 20 minutes and a few phone calls, he said he can't sell them to me for that price. That is below "his" cost and he doesn't care what other stores do, he not selling them for that price at "his" store. I was pissed.

I drove 15 minutes each way just to buy them, and he won't budge on price. He told me it was a special at the other store, and I told him no it isn't, there are many Lowe's throughout the country selling for this price, and he came right out and insisted it was a special at that one store only

He called the other store, and they verified the $23.99 price, and he asked how they could sell them that low. The other store had 2 left, but it's a good 30 minute drive each way for me, so I guess I'm out. Especially when there's no guarantee they would still be there

I just called the other store. The two that they had left are now gone, and I'm willing to bet the person that bought them is the employee that was called by the manager of the other store, when he called to verify that price.

I did send a 'nice' email to the corporate office, explaining what happened, and that I most likely won't be purchasing the over $8000 worth of lumber and supplies from them when I start my garage build within the next month

Just scored the last 3 reels in NW OKC store! $23.99, just like you said! They did offer the usual **** about being a "stocking item", but did go ahead and do it. I think the Memorial Rd. store still has some, but I wasn't able to stop in there today.

* SCORE * I talked to a mgr he called the other store and price matched the last one for me,I asked the old man that brought it to me if there were anymore on the shelves next to or above where he got it. He said your lucky you got that one and walked off. So I walked around for a while and went to the contractor sales and got someone who was considerate.I asked him if he would look up 140418 he did said he had one ,I told him not any more I have it. He punched the keys a bit more and said he had 2 more coming,If I wanted I could go ahead and pay now and they would pull them off the truck when they got there and call me.I agreed and then told him what they cost he started to get on the phone and I told him about what I went through with the other guy and without hesitation he rang them up for me and handed me a receipt he said I should get a call within a week.Im keeping my fingers crossed but Im realistic if its closeout he probobly wont receive them.but thats ok I have a receipt and will get a refund. This site ROCKS thats awsome 2 deals in a week, thanks guys

No joy here in Madera, CA. I printed out the on-line price after I tried to "buy on-line pick up in store" and wasn't allowed to buy. Went into the store, found the last unit in stock and it rang up at $79.99. They told me I could buy it for $45.00, clearance price from a weekend sale, but they would not honor the on-line price. Left it in the store.

Well headed over there.They said they had 2.I got there and they had 1.

I bought that one for the 23.99.Then on the way home I stopped at the nearest store to me that showed 0 when I looked them up yeasterday.

I go to the area where they keep them and I see [email protected] I proceed to the customer service desk with my print out from the store that I just got the 1 from and receipt in hand.She calls the MOD and he will not honor the price from the other store.

Tells me its the stores descresion that they can sell them for what they want.

Now how did you guys get a hold of Corporate?Is there an email addresss or a number?

Well I just got off the phone with corporate.The lady was very pleasant (Sandra).She is forwarding my complaint.

She assured me that I will have a responce in 24Hrs.So we will see what happens.

She also said that it is the stores discression to do there own pricing.

But what gets me that these stores are only 10 miles apart and wont even match corporate prices.

Now thats what I call customer service.

Scored one yesterday for $50.00, just wanted to have it in hand until I could get the printout. Went to another store and told them 1060 in NC. They called the store and after about an hour, I finally got 2 for $23.99 ea. Went back to the other store where I got the one for $50.00 armed with the $23.99 recpt, and I requested a refund on the difference. The MOD was a real b****. She called the other store and wanted to know "why" they sold it so cheap. She "had" to call 1060 to verify. She took her time and after about 1/2 hr. She gave me the refund. Thanks for the post! I now have a cool birthday present for my dad and father in law. AWSOME!! We all ****!

Thanks for this, I went to the Bremerton, WA store and they didn't have any in stock but they checked the inventory at the other 2 stores near me and the Silverdale store had 3 in stock so I went there and found one, went to the front counter and asked them to get the other 2 for me, while they were doing that I pulled out the printout from Lowes.com from store 1060, the manager said "we don't match Lowes .com prices" I told him this was a price at store #1060, he made the teller actually call that store and make sure that it was an in stock item and that the price really was $23.99. When she got off the phone and told him I thought he was going to blow a gasket, he really didn't want to sell them to me at that price, about that time the guy from the tool dept showed up with the other 2 for me and the manager matched the price, he did ask if he could make a copy of my print out, I let him make a copy and said Thank You. He didn't say anything but I could tell he didn't want to sell them to me for that price, glad I asked them to find the other 2 first or I'm sure i would have been told that that was the only one that they had left. They were marked $79.99.

I felt a little bummed, couldn't get in on the gladiator deal (My Lowe's has them listed for $59...and won't budge on the price)... But called today and paid for 2 air reels over the phone....they only had 2 left on the clearance price. Thanks to the OP for the head's up!!!!

In the Kansas City area, I found that the Independence store would match the price, but the Liberty Store would not. Some of the other stores in the area don't carry that, so I called around first.
I used the internet print out as well.

So today after work I stopped by Timonium MD to see if the Lowes was really out of them, like I was told over the phone. To my surprise, there were 4 left! So I bought all 4. Two more for me and two for my friend. They were super dusty (correlates with them being clearanced) and the boxes were beat up. I got LOTS of strange looks carting around 4 of them on a pallet cart. But I only paid ~$103 out the door! I made sure to ask if they had any left in the system, and told them I wanted all of them. But they were out. So don't bother going to Timonium. Although if you take their Online printout, they have the $23.99 price, so you can use that at another MD store and they shouldn't balk.

I just got one. I was told they were out even though the computer said they had one. they looked around a bit and said it must be a mistake in the system.
I said thanks and went for a walk in the store. I was looking at the overhead shelves and sure enough I found one in with some other stuff by the construction materials area.
they got it down for me, I got it for the $24 and I am happy.

I noticed that HD is clearancing their version but it is the 25ft version husky and they want $28. still not a bad deal.

Went to the Naperville IL store yesterday and they would not price match. They said because the number on the website printout was different than the number on the box they wouldn't do it. I told them it was the same thing, and they agreed...but still wouldn't do it. I was really pissed. I've been looking for one of these for months at a decent price and was really looking forward to getting this!

I got 2! It created a little stir in the store. The zone manager told the floor manager to honor the 1060 store price. She (floor manager) was not happy and argued with him.
I had the print out at the $23.99 price. The zone manager said it says Lowes give it to him.

****caution**** look closely at the page and you will see a star next to the 23.99 price and an explanation stating that is for the local area ONLY....this will be questioned when you talk to the store manager about honoring the discounted price. That is why I attached my previous picture....it does not have the star nor explanation of the star. Even though the manager of the Detroit store checked for himself on the Lowe's website and saw the star, he still honored the discount price.

A quick search for availability in Austin shows 4 different prices at 6 stores...only one showing $23.99--Central Austin. If I'm headed that way, I might stop by...otherwise, Austinites, have at it.

Does anyone add a coiled hose to the end of this...makes it easy to reach a few feet when needed and using the reel only when necessary. Could cut down on reel wear since some have indicated that the retracting mech is the weak link.

That number on the box wouldnt of been 175273.How do I know this.Is I went to a store this morning hoping to score a few more and went straight to the isle and I see the box.Beat up but I wanted it.So I dont have my receipt in hand but have it in the truck.

So I go out and grab the receipt and go grab the box.The lady looks at the number and says this is not the same item.But the box looks identical.So I open the beat up box and sure as hell its the same one,But it is all plastic and not metal ,Like the ones I previosly got.

That number is the same as the KOBALT REELS but in a taskforce box.

So be leary if you see them on sale again.They will be the cheaper plastic ones.

I went to store #0408 which is the Chancellor Park Drive store in Charlotte,NC yesterday and found one reel on the shelf. I went straight to the customer service desk and said I needed to check a price on the unit and to please reference store #1060 on South Tryon. The girl made 1 phone call and in 10 minutes I got mine for $23.99. No questions asked.

I also got 2 gladiator cabinets when that deal was around.

Stopped through Grand Rapids North (Plainfield) this morning. They had one on the shelf marked $51 and one more up on the shelf above. I pull out my 1060 printoff, go up front, the "Zone manager" Todd says "nope - we're not required to match that internet pricing from the internet... just cuz those guys down south are losing money on 'em, why should we up north...." Nice enough guy, we had a laugh over it, I told him "you realize I'm going to complain to corporate don't you?..." He said go for it & gave me his store number.

I was putting it back in the tool dept, and the sales gal comes over - "...are you the guy that called this morning for those reels at $24 like down in the Carolinas?"... so someone else here must have been trying it there too.

Called corporate after I left, I'm supposed to hear from senior store mgt within 24 hours... whatever - all the places say that and you'll never hear back. With all of four whole customers in that big ol' store, seems like they'd want every penny they can get.
