Re: Tear Drop trailers

Every time I look at tear drops and see how much they cost and how little you get, I am underwhelmed.

You can get a smaller(under 20') bumper pull thats light weight AND has a toilet and a shower... for about the same price as a tear drop.

Ya I'll third that. These guys must be making a killing at that price or they are truly doing them one at a time.

My son and I just did a trip to Detroit and back and I was blown away at how many of these we saw during our little 4000 mile journey. Specially in Utah and thru the Rockies. I bet we saw every bit of better than a hundred in all kinds of sizes and finishes. Obviously there is a big demand for these now.

Tear drops can go where other campers cannot. I have a friend who builds and sells "off road" versions in CO. Lot's of hikers like them since anything can pull them, they are easy to store and keep you from getting eaten by mountain lions when you sleep. The price for some of them does seem a bit ridiculous but people will pay for what they what they cannot do/build themselves. He has the process down to 32 hours from start to finish and they make their own trailers from raw stock. Last I checked he can pump out 3 or 4 per week. He's is making money hand over fist btw.
