It would be nice to see a nice Tekton etched logo on the ratchet heads of the new 90t designs but that's being picky, those rats look good. The handle design is different and appears so for good reason. Interesting post from S-auto-bacs regarding US made sockets design being linked to warranty constraints. I recently bought 2 sets of NOS Proto 1/2" sockets in SAE, 1 in 6pt & 1 in 12pt, they must be a few years old as they are pre-flank drive design. I like them, there well broached and chromed but are heavy solid chunks of metal with no knurling or stepped shoulder on the larger sizes, the smaller sizes are necked down but for comparison the weight of a Proto 1-1/4" socket is 222gram(7.9oz) compared to a Kincrome shouldered 1-1/4" 161gram(5.7oz). I know these days flank drive is the way to go but to be honest I love the way the old Proto's fit a fastener, great tolerance & 'feel'. For $22au a set it would have been a sin not to buy them.
