That’s good to know. I think I would buy from Tekton website though so I would get points. Wish Lowe’s sold it in stores that would make them some money I’m certain. They sell Capri also but same thing I like buying directly from the company so I get points.

watched the Den of Tools vid too. He mentioned that several store that already carry Tekton in store may have tools of lesser quality, some that Tekton do not offer on their own website. I don't know... and don't own any Tekton... Yet.
I certainly would like to see Tekton in store over the new Craftsman.

So does Walmart and Sears.

Why is this a big deal?
Nobody said it was a big deal.
Being that I dont like Lowes or Tekton, i could care less.
But many here do, and the pricing is competitive.
AFAIK, Walmart and Sears (do they even exist anymore?) arent stocking any product in store, but it appears Lowes might be testing the waters.

I don't know what it's like in your area but here in Phoenix the Home Depots are always packed and the Lowes you could yodel in and get a reflection of your voice back. That's why I would never buy Flex at Lowes. No way am I buying battery tools that only have one store that sells the batteries.

Maybe Lowe’s can add Dewalt and Milwaukee hand tools too? Seems like they’ve got too many brands. But then if it goes like it has with other B&M retailers of Tekton they’ll only carry them for a year or so. My local hardware carried them for about 2 years and then clearanced them all out and switched to Dewalt. Their story was that they couldn’t get inventory of Tekton because it was all going to bigger retailers.

I really don't see any benefit to me to not buy directly from Tekton. The only place I ever saw that had current inventory on the shelf was Meijer stores and that wasn't a complete lineup and without a sale it wasn't cheaper. I think Tekton keeps it that way but that's just personal conjecture.

I don't own any Tekton tools that I can think of, but isn't Tekton the brand that's now selling US made screwdrivers and US made angle wrench sets? It's always nice to see US made options being added to big box type stores, so I see the move as a good thing. Tekton also seems to be at least trying to increase their domestically produced offerings. Many other tool brands are doing the opposite.

Meijer discontinued Tekton maybe a year ago or so and has Stanley Tools now. It was a good place to but when they ran sales.

Tekton has USA made screwdrivers and pliers and a few other things.

Just wondering why it was note-worthy at all. Walmart sold remanufactured automotive engines online, but never stocked them at the stores. That whole Internet marketing thing. :dunno:

Maybe check out the OP link. No indication at all, of the Tekton items being available stocked in-store.

FWIW it takes nearly zippo, for Lowes to offer the product and it's likely Tekton might be fine with another channel to sell their tools.

Regarding competing with their other "brands", seriously what century is this?

I would bet Lowes is testing the waters. Plus in this covid environment inventories of many things have been low. In my local Lowes and HD there are empty shelves. By pulling in another vendor they can make sure they have inventory of basic tools like sockets and wrenches. On the same theme in the past year HD has been stocking Gear Wrench in stores. Can you imagine going to one of these big stores to pick up a half decent quality wrench or socket (because you want it today) and they do not have one? I am sure they are all working hard to not be that store.

I typically get my Tekton from their website just to get the points. But its awesome to see Lowes pick them up. (y)

I don't shop much at Lowes, but I happen to be in the store a few weeks back and saw a Tekton display. It was about 1/2 empty already. Not sure how long it had been there. Went back maybe a week later to pick up something up else and it was gone. Nothing at the second store I had to visit afterwards to buy what I was looking for either.

According to their website, as of this post, there are no Tekton products in store in my local area. So I'm not sure what the deal is. Most of their hand tools have long since been replaced by Craftsman and very little Kobalt remain on the shelves. Personally I'd buy Tekton over Craftsman and most of what's left of Kobalt.

Having said that, the nearest store to me that sells Tekton locally is about 1.5hours away and it's been a few years since I shopped there (definitely pre-Covid). It would be nice to have a local retailer that sells Tekton.

Sometimes when you order Tekton from a third party like Home Depot, Amazon, etc, you don't get the latest/greatest version, sometimes it's an old design. Just fyi.

Do that many people really buy stuff online from Lowe’s, Home Depot and such?

There’s at least three other online retailers that do a much better job at selling Tekton than. Lowe’s could ever dream about.

I only buy from their website. They have put some turds on the market and there are people still selling them as new. Buying off the website assures it's their current offering and there can be a substantial difference

I can't speak for Tekton specifically, but in general yes. My local Home Depot does a **** ton of online orders, and has several order fulfillment employees. Covid really got the ball rolling on curb side pickup and in-store pickup for online orders. They even have a pickup locker outside the main entrance, like those Amazon lockers.

yes ordering online for instore pickup is great when I need something asap, especially because it means I can delegate pickup
