I know Tekton isn't one of the best tool names out there but I wanted to post about their customer service. I only have a couple of there tools. My main being their retractable air hose reel. I've had the reel for maybe 4 years. When I first purchased it the hose developed a leak within a few weeks. I contacted support and in 2 days I had a new hose on my doorstep. They sent me the better heavy duty hose too. It didn't cost me a dime.

Last night I noticed that the brass air inlet on the reel had a slow leak. In the process of tightening it after new teflon tape and dope I split the fitting. It was totally my fault. I emailed support asking them how I can go about purchasing a new one as I'm sure it's well out of warranty. I recieved an email back from them this morning. They asked for my address and said they would ship one right out.

I've read where Tekton says they guarantee customer satisfaction and any dealings will be a pleasant experience. They aren't kidding. I'm very pleased with them.

I just wanted to share my experience because I think a company deserves praise when they stand up to what they say. There are too many companies out there that don't.

That's good to know. I have one of their made in USA screwdrivers and some Taiwan extensions. Good stuff for the price. Thinking about pulling the trigger on some Taiwan metric combo wrenches.

Fun fact: Tekton is Greek for "Craftsman" or "Carpenter".

Great to hear. I've had pleasant experience with Tekton as well. I got a stubby wrench set and got two 15mm's and was missing 16mm. Emailed them and got the 16mm a couple days later (with some Tekton stickers).

I highly recommend their hybrid air hose that is made in USA. Price is even cheaper than the same type of hose at Home Depot or similar places.

I haven't really browsed their tools a whole lot but am going too. Our local Big R now has a whole isle of Tekton tools. I've never stopped and paid much attention. I'm going to next time I go.

I'll have to try their hybrid hose. I'm rough on air hoses or I just haven't had a good one. I believe that yellow heavy duty hose they sent me was one of the rubber Goodyear hoses. The red hose that originally came with it was kind of like one of those red hf hoses. They always seem to bulge near the fitting after awhile.

I have two sets of their full polish wrenches and they have been great! I did an engine swap on my jeep and they were my go to non-ratcheting wrenches and had no problems. Only time I had to pull out a different brand was one of the nuts on the coil required a thin wrench.

I like hearing these stories. I have a decent sized set of Tekton tools and I can also report a positive experience everytime I have contacted them. Even if the problem was 100% a result of my own stupidity they still cheerfully helped me out with no questions asked. It gives one confidence to buy more knowing they will help you no matter what happens. You can't get that reliably from any big box store or Harbor Freight. It seems you can't even get it from a tool truck if your local franchisee happens to be a jerk.

I have multiple sets of tekton impact sockets. use them almost daily. no skipped sizes in the sets. use them with my 3/8 and 1/2 inch drive fuel impacts. I aint nice to them. zero issues with these sockets. well worth the money.

Yeah it's great as long as Tekton pays someone to answer the phone /email. That's a single point my friends, not ideal / sustainable for anyone's lifetime! Ask yourself whats gonna happen after the Tekton sales model folds or gets eroded from competition ? Perhaps SB&D enters this area and they put the squeeze on Tektons vendors.
Ive seen larger corporate customer service lines go dark before.
I'd take a warrantee from HF /Lowes any day over an online link! At least I can get a different opinion as the number of store managers AND they also have a 1-800 number in case you need a referee. If that fails at least I can throw the NFG tool at a window. LOL
That being said from a 'Debbie downers perspective, I never buy tools based on a warrantee. I buy because it's made well, from good materials, and feels good in my hand.

I grabbed their 3/8 and 1/4 torque wrench off Amazon and have to say they are simple devices but I'm happy with them and their quality. Compared to my 1/2 sears Digital clicker... I will probably replace the craftsman one with a Tekton 1/2 inch because it seems like the Craftsman's ratchet mechanism is about to break and the most I have torqued something up to is about 9- ft lbs. I am sure I can take it to Sears and get it seen to but I think we're all wondering now how long until Sears goes down the drai?

WOULDN'T COUNT ON IT!! I had one do the same thing and they only warranty torque wrenches like 30 days unless you have a receipt and/or (YMMV) packaging that shows you bought it when they actually offered lifetime on them. I got screwed by this my rachet mech just spins freely and since i did not have receipt anymore to prove when i bought it i has out of luck. now i own a made in usa Husky 1/2 torque wrench

You are correct, if they go under or decide to fire the CS department then the warranty is for not but I disagree about HF or Lowe's being better. If the store manager decides to be a jack wagon then you have to fight or go to a different store. Tekton doesn't fight you even if you are wrong which is quite remarkable in this day and age.

Interesting insight you have there, is this from experience? In the future Tekton may indeed have to close a few loopholes in their policy:D
I like buying at a B&M store because I get see exactly up close, and can easily return a tool for any reason w/o shipping or time delays. IMO An online purchase would have to be much cheaper / better than HF quality for me to bite. To my eye in general, Tekton is neither. Sure there maybe particular tool standouts, just like at any store.
