That is a much older set that has been discontinued. The new set is better and worth the difference.

About 4-5 years back Fleet Farm was carrying a bunch of Tekton stuff... but it's all gotten phased out in favor of Dewalt. So I think this is likely old stock.

Thank you, Dave.R and Minnesota Steve.

Might have to try the new screwdrivers and USA made pliers and wrenches.

Amazing that I found this subject. Someone at work lost my 14mm deep 3/8 impact socket. Couldn’t find individuals for sale. Emailed them to ask if they can price one for me. Asked for my shipping info and sent one to my house for free. I was floored

Simple. Service. Say it y'all, Seeeerrrrrvvvvviiiiccccceeeee. You had me at hello.

I love tools, but I love a company that responds even more.

Their webpage is smart, logical, and organized very well. And their sets are COMPLETE! Don't care if it has a 2mm 3/4' drive socket I'll never use. Damn thing is in there, and satisfies my OCD need for every number 1-100. No "Where the hell is 78 when you need it the only time in my life."

I have a **** ton of CM tools but shopping their sets on the ****** Sears site, or anywhere really is maddening. 500 sets and they are all different and incomplete.

I think they are competing very well.

Definitely interested in the screw drivers. One of my last Cman purchases was a set of”professional” screw drivers. The tips are not sized correctly at all.

Very happy with my Tekton purchases thus far.

I got the newer 1/4” socket set when it first came out; excellent quality/price ratio. Super happy with them.

Just bought the 30pc Metric/SAE wrench set the other week after deciding I had enough of the sloppy QC on the Gearwrench 40something piece set and sold them off. Considered buying Williams Supercombos, but realized that I’m one of those guys that will smack a wrench with a hammer sometimes if I “need” to. I don’t use combo wrenches much anyway and also couldn’t justify the price for the Williams. Again, excellent quality/price ratio and the fit/finish is a night and day difference from the Gearwrench, not to mention that the Tekton set was half the cost.

I’ve got the 16 piece hard handle screwdriver set showing up tomorrow. I’m excited to get my hands on them.

Yeah, Tekton is awesome!

I just ordered two pairs of Taiwanese pliers from their website. It pains me to buy foreign made tools. But my retirement budget is my reality. And Tekton is my choice of foreign tool company. I believe their quality is competitive with other foreign tools at a very good price. I love that they strive to introduce more domestic entries to their lineup while most of their competition seem to ignore COO in favor of profit. I don't. And they also have more focus on customer service than anyone I know of.

Again, I'm a strong advocate of buying American. But I also know the realities of a limited budget.

I’ve been looking for people who use Tekton tools everyday and what their thoughts were about them. I got the same 55-piece 1/4” set as a birthday gift almost three years ago. It’s had considerable use, but not everyday. I don’t have any bad issues or complaints about it yet. I reckon the one thing I can look forward to if I need to warranty the ratchet is Tekton replacing lthe 72-tooth ratchet with a 90-tooth one. I also have the Tekton torx and e-torx bit set, a pair of long reach needle nose pliers and have a pair of groove joint pliers coming.

I looked at the website, being in the market for wrenches and they look nice, but can someone explain the advantage of buying Tekton wrenches made in Taiwan as opposed to Craftsman wrenches made in Taiwan?

I own the Tekton combination wrenches, and I can assure you they’re as good as anything I’ve used. I own the Craftsman Professional USA (aka Armstrong) and they’re every bit as good and I beat them beyond what they’d likely recommend. I use a 3lb mini sledge on them to remove brake calipers. Buy them, you’ll be happy!

That’s my only “complaint” with Tekton, they have Wilde making their slip joint and groove joint pliers here in the US, but the rest are imports. I’m guessing they couldn’t agree on a price.

Other than than minor (in my opinion), they’ve been pretty fantastic.

I'm eyeing the QR 1/4 and standard 1/4 ratchets. I think one is 5" and the other is 6". I work on auto electrical and rarely need more larger drive sizes. I want a few nice ratchets I can afford to lose if and when we cross that bridge.

Loving my screwdrivers!

Which set did you get? I bought the 12pc soft grip tri lobe handle set. Actually got them at Hartville Hardware. Beens using them daily for about a month. No complaints at all. Actually really liking the handles. Tip fitment on the Phillips are great too

I really don't need screwdrivers but I see a basic set of two for twelve bucks or something. Only a matter of time, I'm sure. Especially when you guys say you like them.

I got 2 of the red fixed drivers (1/4 flat and #2 phillips) and 1 red 6 in 1.

Maybe I'll order at least the ph2 red hard handle. I have only had these tri-lobe soft handles drivers for a short time and really do like them a lot. Very surprised at how well the Phillips tips fit screws. And the handles are very comfortable. Also LOVE the markings at the top of the handles. It's just a stupid little thing but saves a bunch of time not having to dig for the correct driver. All I have to do is look into my bag. Grab the right one.
