That is a great looking garage! Well done, and great use of materials!

I also am planning on using OSB on my interior walls, no luck thusfar finding it without the ink compliance markings here in northern California, however.

Would you mind sharing the manufacturer of the OSB material you used? That would give me a place to start, with their local distributor(s), etc.

TheShrine, I'm fairly new to the website but I do live in Kerrville, I've been working on my own shop. I'll have to look for your place on 16. I live in Saddlewood estates. I wish I'd found this site before I started my garage so I could have it looking as good as your's. Fantastic work and ideas. How do you like the OSB on the interior? Drop me a line maybe we can compare notes.

Good question! I'm a sucker for an over size 4X4 and I knew well that I'd stuff one in if I had the height. Make note of the extra 14" of beam I have under the upper 14" beam. If I just can't stand it I can open that one up.

What is going in the open spot in front of the window that is in the concrete? I'm going to assume some type of planting area?

Good point there!!! Love the place, but the door would have to be bigger.

Famous last words: I'll NEVER put anything more than 33" tires and a 2" lift on that Jeep...

I went the exact OPPOSITE way with mine. Put in 10X10 doors on a 14'+ wall, put the beam at the TOP and firred down to the opening just in CASE the 10' wasn't enough later.

Yep, those are for plants....something the deer won't eat! The hole/planter that is to the left, under the ladders contains the connection for water from house.

That's not overbuilt--that's Texas Tuff Built. Nice shop you have there,that will be there on and on. Went to Bandera area once while stationed with the USAF in San Antonio--Hill country is a pretty area in a great state.

Being from TX and loving the Hill Country - I completely understand your corrugated tin Wainscot. I will have to borrow your idea and cut some for Cabinet Panels. I wanted something to take up the Large Cabinet door space and that will be my solution~!

The Shrine has been up and going for some time now. She's wearing her bumps, bruises and chips with pride. She's rarely as clean as the old pics show. I really should post some "working" pics for those who think that she's for show only. The Shine will be in the January issue of "DREAM GARAGES" and the pics had to be delayed until I could get her cleaned up from a neighbor's engine pull and ****** swap. She cleaned up pretty good though.

Well, I'm not sure which thread to respond to, but I like the idea of two different floor treatments. I'm thinking of something like that for my workshop -- but it might be more like sealed concrete for most of floor plus epoxy for the "show/work" room. Thanks for sharing your garage; very inspiring.

If I had to do it again I'd not use epoxy....any epoxy. I like the VCT in the shop area and it wears well but would rather have etched/stained concrete in the heavy use areas. I've not had any issues w/ the epoxy but I tend to be over protective of it for the "just in case" factor.

Great; thanks for advice on flooring. I'll look into VCT, and if it weren't so easy just to leave the "bare"/sealed concrete, I'd go with stained, myself. Still might. . . .
