Very nice clean set up. Like the storage bins for "parts that I might need someday"

Re: My "Shop"

My wife didn't necessarily ask me to do it, the paint specs from cleaning paint brushes and roller covers in the kitchen sink spoke volumes. I really love it, and don't hesitate to use it. Picture shows the cover / location.

I had to install a sink sump, because I didn't have a basement floor drain that went to the sanitary sewer, and didn't think it was appropiate to send shop "dirty water" to the retention pond..

Re: The 5 Sticthes Garage.... 20x23 in FL

ok this weekend decided to get working on bench.... orginally i thought it out this way and it work but need more bench space so decides to change few things The yellow line is gonna be a shelf extension. tools boxes 1 2 will go up there. I usually keep cameras, computer stuff, drafting stuff and keepsakes. Boxes 3 and 4 will make up drill press storage in a custom cart/ frame that will house boxes and mount DP low enough behind boxes to clear shelf in yellow. Box 5 i moved all my welding stuff into and box 6 misc stuff at moment. The gray table will go back under bench as always and will make a small 12 x 20 lightweight service cart to hold torches and to roll around area. The service cart will be will be made of tool stands steel and dp table will be made of bed frame. First off gonna build the shelf. I will post progess.

well, In the interest of time, sanity and being able to put garage back together i swapped DP with my father until I built DP table. My uncle gave me this one or to us and since my father doesnt have as much room decided to put it at his house plus its easier and lighter then mine to move and use. Its ok cause he doesnt use it much if any at all. I swap it back out when ready to do table.

Re: The 5 Stitches Garage.... 20x23 in FL

well got so wor done for DP even through a temp thing.

I frist started out by drilling the rivits out of top cause didnt need it plus needed 2 extra inchs it dropped total height
GALLERY]

Heres the box with it off

GALLERY]

I wedge to blocks of wood into top and screwed into it from back

GALLERY]

then scrap wood left over from shelf it bolt DP down to

GALLERY]

ok this will be wierd pic but idea on how it will look..... I will built custom frame 27w x 25d x 32h with 6 uprights front 12.5 inchs will lock boxes in place and other 12.5 will be support for DP. Ill sink the DP domn far enough to clear that shlef of 65in off the ground plus it will put DP lower and not at eye level. This is not the DP im using but the bigger one in previous post. For the time being ill use this set up. I got few lose ends before I start that project. I did have to strap it down with strap cause it was top heavy and slighty tippy.

this is how it looks in place

Nice looking shop. I had a similar boo boo this week when the buffer caught a part and threw it into my left hand. Makes one want to wear gloves and pay more attention. I guess you really do need to practice shop safety every day.
Your place looks good. I like it and would be very comfortable working in there. You have done a lot with it!!

Thank you, With my garage i tried to work with what a got and make something from nothing. As far as safety, I sometimes dont get the same feeling with gloves but its was just its hot, tired and just trying to finish up few things. I was tring to drive 3 in deck screw on my impact driver when it slipped off head into hand. I should be more careful or just stop when that tired.

Well tonight little project is wiring up my gen. I got this free from friend about a year ago. Its a 8500w 13hp which runs but frame was rusting and he took tank from this to use for his. I had to built a very low frame from bed frame and finally found a tank from another gen at a savage place. The panel also needed work to cause of rust too. With hurricane season already started I should have got this done few weeks ago but i been putting off.

Nice job-I like your efficient use of space (and abundant pictures). Shelving technique is pretty interesting-I might have to look into that for my garage. Keep it up!

Tonight plan, adding 4 more feet of pegboard so 8 foot total. Mans its gonna be alot of work. take down shelf with cans. Remove pegboard, move over, cut around swicthes and reomove all the upper shelf brackets to put pegboard behind bracket. Alot of work for not much results but hey thats my garage lately.

Re: The 5 Stitches Garage.... 20x23 in FL

Its with much regret and sorrow I write this post. On Sept 11, 2013 at alittle after 20:04 my Acer Extenza 2640 ( my labtop) wrote her post. Her hard drive just gave out. After hours of emergency recover disks trying to save her at 01:37 I finally had to pull the plug. I sat there with her until her green light faded. She was a good computer.s I got her in 2008 2 years old from a good friend who needed a home for her. She came to work with me everyday until a accident broke her hinge. I ran and got her new hinges and after hours and surgery her hinges where fixed but her screen was dim and would light up. She sat waiting until a 15in Dell monitor showed up and she came back to life. She never gave me any issues and was with me from the beginning of my involvement in GJ. Many many good times spent with her surfing net, sending emails, photo uploads, downloads. She did it all giving her last life sending a post on GJ. She would sure be missed.

Well bought a 18v Dewalt impact/ drill combo. A friend gave me another 18v drill with charger and battery cause switch acts up and I prefer to have a nice 9 or 12 volt cause theyre lighter and easier to use above your head. I still have all my Ryobi 18v drill, impact, saw, sazall and light combo but I really like the Dewalt stuff.

Its hard to believe that I worked on this place for over 8 years and its finally done. There was a time where I never ever thought I would finish but when finished the bench other day and looked around I said to myself HOLY **** IM DONE.....!!!! Of course I got small project painting some tool boxes, DP project and small cart but everything else is done. Floor, electrial, plumbing, shelfves, all done. I really think I gonna enjoy just sitting out just tinkering on smaller stuff.

taumac, your place is looking great. I am totally impressed with that workbench wall and those PVC tool holders. You are super organized and it really looks good, and looks like a very nice place to work on about anything!! I like the way your rides fit in the garage and I really like the storages. You have a place for everything and everything is in its place. Great job my friend!!! (However, we are never really "done" are we?) LOL
Keep up the good work and enjoy your shop!!

Well Another project started. My custom service cart. I know welds look horrible but I welder acting up so force to use a 70 amp 110 A/C welder. I hate the POS but when mig down and O/A tanks empty you use what you got. I building this from pile of table saw and tool stands ive found and collected over the years. I found some of the same and cut down to size. Size of boxes. Final size is 16 X 21 1/2. I know theres no bottom but I just plan to use 3/4 plywood for bottom
