Re: The 5 Stitches Garage 20 x 22 in FL

Sorry but heres the difference it screens.
Reg screen off neighbors house.
uploadfromtaptalk1393551051993.jpg

The privacy screen on my house and the garage door is open. There's also a big shading effect inside also. If one downside which depends on personal preference is that it doesn't allow a lot of air though which is good is winter which is good cause it stays warmer but bad sometimes in summer making it hotter but shading and fans make it ok.

I got my new welder but that meant wifey gets 2nd bath redone. Its almost a total gut except shower and tub. New vanity, toilet, and all new tile. I be putting can lights in and framing out ceiling and drywalling hole where fixture is
uploadfromtaptalk1393551886833.jpguploadfromtaptalk1393551908143.jpguploadfromtaptalk1393551927777.jpg
So ready have got chance to play with new toy too much except for fixing a tool I made for removing tile and leftover thinset.

If there's one good point about all this it that by making closet opening wider I putting the w/d in that closet. Getting a new smaller set cause its just me and the wife. This will become new home for the riding lawnmower. uploadfromtaptalk1393552330768.jpg
Im gonna to get a single sink and and redo sink area again. Generator will still fit under sink and ill get dollies for the mower and put it there then I be able to park both my truck and wife's car in the garage. Hooray. Well I'm back to cleaning up mess or at least making or more organize and tidy. I hate working in a mess but in my world mess happens.

Just found this thread and subscribed. You have created a fantastic place for all your projects. Like the screen garage door. In my part of the world you don't see those often. Planning on doing some revamping of my small tandem garage once spring rolls around and I need all the ideas I can get. Good luck with all your projects. Will be following along.

OH WELL I loved the journey and glad you guys followed and enjoyed it. Once the bathroom is done I plan getting a lot done and with my new little friend ( Lincoln 140). Its kinda a second wind and created juices are flowing again. Ideas are coming and cant wait to share my creations but bathroom first. Happy Wife Happy Life.

Re: The 5 Stitches Garage 20 x 22 in FL

Ok guys I teased you enough..... Here's the super TOP SECRET idea i've been hinting of. Remember my folding welding table? Well that has to be my best idea I have ever came up with. I wanted it back but didn't have room so here it is coming back in a newer version. The pieces will come from A. the extra pieces I built the custom shop cart from I didn't use. B. the folding legs off a banquet table someone threw out. C. the older folding table top which was a security bars my friend got. The idea is 2 of these one for welding and other with so top maybe plywood.

uploadfromtaptalk1393786689317.jpg

Now who needs a big *** welding table when you can have a very mobile folding one?. The red cman is full of welding stuff and silver one is my project one. If welding I can use red one for welding and silver can be holding my grinders and sanders maybe a vise. I plan on making custom tubes like a receivers like everyone has on the gray table and both craftsmans.

And cool collection vises you have, very nice.

Which other? My Shop? Yeah I saw another site and every garage was called My Shop. I figured it was time to give it a catchy name. LOL Thanks for checking it out. Sometimes I wish I just asked mods to change name but I didn't know I could do that.

I love your projects! Can you please give some info about your folding table and that piston looking thing that holds it up?

Sure whatever you need to know. That prop is a old carwash brush I use now as a hood prop. I used it just to hold up table.

The whole thing will attach to back of cabinet as one piece. I have to build the whole thing. A lot of cutting and welding. It hopefully in theory will work like previous one. Only issue is when I made other that security bar is heavy so might have to put some weight in bottom to offset it when extended.

And I thought it was against the Garage Journal code of conduct to knowingly or willingly sell or otherwise dispose of a tool or tool box!! Maybe you should have dug a hole in your backyard and buried it. Placing a "Craftsman" headstone with the date of it's death---LOL

To Herb Spencer and followers of the 5 Stitches Garage.

The board and members of management of the "5 Stitches Garage" project would like to take a moment to address your concerns. The team here has been working hard on some solutions to issues that has been a long term problem. We have come the determination that the 4 Craftsman tool boxes your speaking of didn't fit the overall theme and direction in which the project was going in. Therefore, they where deamed no longer of use. They received a good home in which they can serve proudly. Going foward the team here sort out a older, more experienced members to join on team. Our team here believes that we have made a good decision and will make a announcement when the new members arrive.

Thank you,
The 5 Stitches Garage.

New boxes are home. The twins meet up. Left is 11/70 and right is a 09/72. Looking at them being less then 2 years apart there are some differences. Ok left isn't on org wheels but from front, top and sides all the same but back on 72 used different back. uploadfromtaptalk1394155760444.jpguploadfromtaptalk1394155777862.jpg
I very happy with decision and new boxes are gonna work out great.

Re: The 5 Stitches Garage 20 x 22 in FL

Spent morning working on bathroom remodel and then wife said you need to get that garage clean. OK  so this is current layout of the HF 44 bench. I raised shelf few inches to get more height on bench. With craftsman out of way I made area to reuse 9 draw storage bin, Oscar is back up there out of harms way, and gave me alittle area to store some vises. I even made stand for my vintage Luther. I did have to put one of craftsman chest you on bench. Its holding what the 2 intermediates where holding but didn't feel like lowering shelf 4 inches need to fit on shelf. I think it looks wierd at moment cause the cabinet isn't attached and on floor. Work bench I worked on today but needs work before pictures taken maybe later.

Re: The 5 Stitches Garage 20 x 22 in FL

Well cleaned up bench to show NEW idea. I'm doing a declutter or selective downsize. That was kinda purpose of new boxes and really wanted a matching one. Cleaned out some of attic other day and one thing I kept has this stool.
uploadfromtaptalk1394332051870.jpguploadfromtaptalk1394332066687.jpg
Got rid of other crappy one and one office chair.
4 boxes sold got 2 vintage ones
uploadfromtaptalk1394332204077.jpg
I got my colors picked out. Silver and red everything on work bench wall. Restore or freshen up all craftsman and paint others to match.
uploadfromtaptalk1394332406512.jpg
New DP plan. I gonna one only one chest on DP table and reusing this drawer I had. This setup allows entire table to be lower and not as deep cause this setup the DP doesn't need to be tucked behind boxes like other design. Overall it will a easier design.
