A picture tells a 1000 words but in this case it doesn't doesn't come close. I'm giving to next Monday for someone to tell me what I did here when someone answers correctly I will reveal what I did that person will receive one of my "Red Label" tools ( ICE COLD Killian's). Let the games begin.

Re: The 5 Stitches Garage 20 x 22 in FL

How do I put this? OK, the nine drawer chest WAS under the bench, and has been moved as the base of the three chest stack next to the red cabinet. Therefore, the once under the bench nine drawer was moved and the benchtop lowered. The nine drawer chest (which was once under the benchtop) evidently was more narrow than the other cabinet, of which it now fits betwixt the bench top (which was lowered) and the red cabinet. Or to put it simply the nine drawer was swapped and the bench was lowered.
This is one of those cartoon like things in the paper where it says "find at least 6 differences in these pictures". You would look at say "Well, the awning is longer in this picture, yada yada."
So, using that methodology to discern what you did, I would say that you swapped the nine drawer, lowered the bench, made a stack of three chests, and no telling what else you have in mind?

Am I right or wrong?

Best Regards
Herb

Or the previous post could be ALL wrong because I could be confused by which bench I am looking at in the photo. Maybe it did happen like I first said, but now I don't trust my answer.

Well I do have a new addition coming which will take the place 9 drawer. So the 9 drawer is there until the new addition. This picture refers to the stack only and nothing else. So sorry Herb you are not correct

So I don't know all I understand about this except I would be too short to use the top chest without a two foot stepladder.

Did you mount the two upper chests to the 2 x 4's running vertical so the 9 drawer easily swaps in and out?

This is a 5 Stitches exclusive design and nobody has done this on the GJ before. Here's the finish pic.

Here's the problem. I like the look of traditional stack. The problem with a stack is that it gets top heavy and moving it is a pain. Also since I don't have a real intermediate chest I can not bolt the top chest down. So if moving it it could easily fall over. Also if I want to do anything on middle chest I have to remove all the drawer and lift it off top chest. So how do I keep the look of a traditional stack and solve this problem. So here what I did.

Each chest is mounted to the wall by itself. So I can remove the top, middle or bottom by itself without moving any other box.

LOL, sure wish you where closer. I used the wood as camo to hide the gaps but thinking now it gave it away. LOL

I couldn't answer your question but I do suspect this:

Even YOU YOURSELF have lost track of just how many Craftsman cabinets you either have on hand, have disposed of, or have on order!

I believe too many of the Killians can cause that. LOL. I was trying to find a solution to restore bottom rollers and middle chest without disturbing the whole garage. I also would like to use all my bottom rollers as portable tables.
Actually, I'm trading off my 7 drawer

For a 5 drawer.

It's the bottom one shown. It's gonna be the finishing piece for that wall. I can't wait to get it here and set it all up.

Very slick idea there floating those upper boxes in the stack format. That's a good one and may just get borrowed someday.

Thanks man. I've never seen it done before. Unlike the last time I hung a chest on the wall this one will probably be more accepted because it uses a pre-fabricated bracket you can get from Home Depot or Lowes. I know this idea is not a traditional idea but it does solve a couple of issues that I have. Even if I don't move it I've created a small work area.

Could the space between boxes be used for tools that come in flat, low plastic cases? My tap/die set would fit perfectly in a spot like that.

I don't think so. It's only about a inch and 1/4. That's not the box that's going to go there but when I get the new box i'm going to drop those top chest down as low as I can. I want just enough space to be able to roll it out maybe a 1/4 in between the chest in the bottom roller.

Re: My "Shop"

Me and the wifey too a trip to Ikea yesterday just to get out of the house. While down there there where 2 items i saw last time I wanted to take another look at. One was a set of drawers that I could fit into that small spot at end of the Craftsman bench. I didn't get this cause I figure with ALL the damn toolboxes and drawers available I didn't need more. The second item I did buy and that's this.

It's a very small cart called the RASKOG for 29.99. I've seen Hazet stuff and I liked it but that stuff but wouldn't fit in the space I had left to use. I needed a small lightweight tool caddy to roll around the garage. I wanted to build a custom unit to fit there and I might sometime down the road. This thing is surprise beefier than you would seem. The top and bottom shelf is fixed and the middle can be adjusted to where you would like.

And it fits perfect in the space I designated for a tool caddy cart.

It's now right now charcoal gray but thinking somewhere down the road it might end up that antique pewter and red to match my Craftsmans.

The resto red fan, beautiful! Thanks for the another picture of the blower. Definitely will keep an eye out. As I read through your thread, you have made a very nice garage even nicer.

The first one died. This is another one I got from a blow up that one of the 2 fans died. I thank you so much for your compliments on my place. As Emeraldcope said once its one thing to see it on the internet but don't get full effect until you see it in person. LOL.

I love the little baskets on rollers. That looks shirt pocket handy. I have not seen one anywhere I know of. I would probably use it for WD-40, other oils and cleaners, shop towels, etc. It will keep anything handy for you. Good pick. I am liking the idea of the blower as well. It looks great to move a little air in the shop while your working. I have a fan that move around but it most likely won't do anymore than yours.
Things looking good in there!!!

Best Regards
Herb

It's really handy. I got it yesterday but put it together today. I used it while working again on my gas blower. I kept tools on top and parts in the bottom 2 bins. I need to build some tool holders in tool bin. The fan moves a lot air even if it's noisy. It's was in lower 90 today and had 2 ceiling fans, blower fan and portable fan going. It helped but it was balls hot.
