Since now I have to keep up with the Spencer's ( LOL, Love ya Herb) I've been spending free time working on the landscaping
He knew I would catch this. LOL. Those weeds have too many cracks to grow through. What to do? 2X4 form the drive way and order ready-mix, and four men to lay it. No, the pavers look too pretty. Make it rain round up? Hope not. Burn 'em out works well.
LOL-----Paint the weeds? OH OH we don't paint, so that is out. HA HA JUST KIDDING YOU GERARD!!!!!

Well I gotta say that your work on the CM wall in hot weather has paid off big. It looks great they way they are arranged. And I immediately spotted those two drawer boxes tucked in there. Nice location for those as well. I would say that this layout has become your most usable one to date and looks good too.
My vote on the vise choice would be the Reed unless you really use that extra jaw width a lot. And I only choose it from a visual standpoint. Aside from being a great vise it just looks the part as a classic USA design in front of other classic USA tool boxes. The Chicom one does the job I'm sure but looks like an invader.
Now, you just have to paint and restore all those tool boxes to be complete!
Thank you man I really appreciate it. A little compromise with this layout for more function. You're right I really need a good old American vise on that bench so the Reed it is. Now, just need to deal with the drill press. Yeah and I'll get around that whole painting restoring part in the future. Still got a couple more things before I do that. Thanks for stopping by man.

Thanks man. I like the idea of framing pictures but I would need wall space for that. LOL

Besides taumac has already stated that his goal is to keep up with Herb so when the gardening is done that means painting everything properly inside the garage too.

I'm thinking you could sell each GJ Member one of those pavers to have their shop name put on it like they do at many places. After the engraving they could pick a color they like (red or gray). You could retire quickly and buy you a second home on the beach. Being rich then, you could invite us all down whenever we wanted a vacation. LOL.

Well, I have to set a goal and now after reading Bob's thread looks like I have a lot of work to do. I believe that Herb and Bob set the goal SOOOOO high that I don't think it will never be obtainable for me. LOL

Well hope all have a Happy Father's Day. Today was a good day for myself. I sleep in late followed by coffee and watching tv in bed. At about 11 I felt like a should get up and do something productive so went in the garage to take a swing at doing something then staring at the walls.
Last week I decided what I would do with the bench for the Wall of Craftsman. This is what I came up with.
I know it's not much to look at but there's more here than meets the eye. I made a mobile bench.
What I ended up doing is attaching 2 bottom rollers together. On the bottom I made some brackets to attach bottom to each other than hammered plastic shim between them
You can see from the front that the gap is equal from top to bottom.
The top I used the plywood inserts I made for the top of the bottom rollers to attach the bigger top. The inserts where made slightly bigger so I could wedge them into recess in top of the cabinets thus keeping the top piece in place. I was still able to keep my universal mounting system I made up.
When I need to I can roll this out use it and took it back and this is heavy enough to use the vise without it moving too much. I still need to paint it and get a hardboard top but think that was got for today.

LOL, the floor needs a good cleaning for sure. I picked up some purple power cause simple green doesn't seem to be working. The epoxy floor has seen 6 years of abuse by me and needs to be recleared or redone. It probably wouldn't look as bad if I didn't match it to outside of the house and had more flake in it.

Another good idea to have your cabinets come out from the wall for mobile work station.
I was just thinking it needs a hard wood top when you mentioned it. That would really finish it off nicely along with that "paint" word that was mentioned. You had a good Father's Day.

Thanks 1/2. They sell so much stuff today it's crazy. Back then really only stain, paint or epoxy. When I had it done it was like 2 days before I could walk on it and 2 weeks or more before I could park on it. I would like to redo it but don't want garage unusable for that long.

I have to agree with you Gerard. 2 days then 2 weeks is not an acceptable time to stay out of the garage.

That was another thing done in the sinkhole remediation. The painters did the floor with a solvent based epoxy floor vs a water based product. I know this cause I was told If wanted to go over it I could do a water based or solvent base product down the road. IIRC they asked me what product I wanted to use. I choose the better of the two they offered. At the time all the garage stuff was in a pod so waiting wasn't a issue. I loading the pod so if needed a tool it was right where I could get it. We use the garage so much that not being able to go out there might be a issue.

Man it feels like long time since I posted up in here. Well tonight I did a small project. I just replaced my dishwasher and I saved the bottom tray. Figured I could use it for something. LOL.
Gerard is thinking again.... Very bad.
Here's the tray.
Well it just so happens that this drawer has been ******* me off for some time now. It's the C clamp drawer.
Well decided to cut the tray into something for this drawer to help organize it. I was thinking of closet maid shelving like I did once before but decided to try this out first. After about 5 minutes with a grinder and cut off wheel I came to this.
With it in the drawer.
And the final product.
Only issue is this is a lot of weight for a drawer so clamp are in the 9D which has the strongest drawers and can handle the weight but those drawers aren't full extension. I can still reach all of them and should help keep this drawer in order that's if I put stuff back in order.

You've done it again Gerard. I wish my brained worked that way. You have a true talent for making something out of nothing.

Thanks, it really depends on the layout. That was the bottom rack but the top rack had this wired shape to it. It was like you can put a coffee mug on one side but then a tall glass on the other. I really couldn't find a use for that one. Just wish it was just a little bit wider where all the pegs stuck up. If I can stay a little bit more organize than I was before and it helped

Thanks man, I always worked on little to no budget in the garage which meant repurposing was only way to go. I really enjoy it also as I hate to see stuff end up in landfill and has use to it.

That's a great idea re-purposing that rack. I could not visualize that use from the first picture but you have a good eye for organizing. That should keep the clamps from fighting with each other when the drawer is shut!
