Ok G, Mrs. 1/2 Cup knows how to paint. Since you're not buying any more tool boxes, I'm sure Mr. & Mrs. 1/2 Cup would enjoy a break from winter with a Florida vacation.
They could then show you how to paint and restore boxes....and get things done.

Sure, I have a spare room and they more than welcome. I could learn much from them. I could even get the FC to show up and make it a big party. Thanks Shorty.

If you get 1/2 and mrs. 1/2 cup to show up, I'll take a vacation and drive down to meet all you guys. And seeing that Shorty owes me one, he can put me up for a day or two. And I'll bring Maine lobsters and beer for everyone. (On second thought, scratch the beer. I'm sure you guys can drink a lot if someone else is buying). Hell, I'll even pay the dues to the FC and be a honorary member for a week. Keep me posted.:lol_hitti:lol_hitti:willy_nil

Congratulations my friend, your up for my rant today. Why, well I spent all day yesterday Installing a new dishwasher in my house I was not smart enough like you were to keep the tray and make something cool out of it like you did. I bought the Bosch Ascenta $700.00 model as it was on sale, and Consumers Reports magazine said it was the kitten's britches, and it is. Nothing already in my kitchen would fit, wiring, water supply, or drain hose, so I had to make a number of trips getting all that stuff together. Bosch has an odd electrical hook up, you can either hard wire or if you want to plug it in a recep, you need their $20.00 kit which only bypasses the hard wired terminal, using a cord with the same plug in at the washer. It took me a while to figure that one out. Nothing was supplied to hook the water, and the drain hose would, of course, not fit my garbage disposer inlet. Anyway, the turkey is in there and works great but I am thinking I save maybe $125.00 doing it myself, I only made about $15.00 an hour doing it!! LOL

Next up was my new laptop comes in the same day, running Windows 10, which learning it is ONE SMALL STEP for mankind and ONE GREAT STEP for HSpencer. I now have it cooking and am in the process of learning it. I was tech lagging as we still had a Gateway comp, Windows Vista (2007) a dinosaur but works like a charm. Wife is keeping it NOT learning anything new like 10, thank you very much she says!! I also got a "Windows 10 for Dummies" and I am trying to use it to get things where I can deal with it. Additionally, everything is wireless now with the Laptop and printer on my side of the office, hers remains "untouched". I figure I have about two more weeks before comfort sets in with WIN/TEN.

So you were up, and you mentioned Dishwasher and earned being my point man on the rant---Thanks for being there!!!

Beers, Fishing, Quiet Time is next.

Best Regards
Herb

Wow, who would think that setting up a dishwasher would be that much of a hassle. Of course the water connection on mine was different then the older. That needed a $4 dollar adapter to go from 1/4 to water hose style. The drain hose hooked up different but I had the drain hose. It was just different at the machine hook up but disposer was the same. Biggest issue was leveling it. This was a use unit from my MIL but much newer than one we had. One day down the road we will redo the kitchen and get all new. We swapped out appliances when we found good deals, all bisque color and in great shape. Wife wants stainless down the road.

I still have my laptop with Windows 8. I don't use it much at all because it's slow and never ran right. I have I IPhone 6 which I do everything through and use tapatalk for GJ. I find using tapatalk for GJ makes it soooooo much easier to post on GJ. I can take pic and post so easy is not funny. I don't know if a could go back to the browser method.

Your welcome to rant away here Herb. I enjoy the conversation. [emoji482]

Dan, come on down, I'll waive your dues, your money is no good.
1/2 cup, painting the boxes would be great, I'll also contribute to the liquid fund.
taumac gets his boxes painted, Shorty will have to find something else to harass T about and I'm off the hook for painting.:lol_hitti.

This is turning out to be one big party. I thought I had issues getting everyone together in Florida on one date now I have a International logistical party to plan. I must admit is will be great if happens.

If toolboxes get painted I'm sure he will find something to harass me about. LOL.

Few weeks back I thought I was replacing my old garage fridge with a bigger 21.9cf unit vs my 19cf unit. Well brought it home and while it work from the place I got it from it didn't go to sub zero temps in the freezer section. After about a week of checking temps I finally gave up and put it at curb with free sign. It took less then 2 hours for it to be picked up. I was honest that it would work for drinks but would trust it with frozen food.

Fast forward few weeks and my inlaws got all their new kitchen appliances so old kitchen fridge went to their garage and in return I got a new old one. The only issue is no ice maker and slightly smaller at 18.2 cf. I giving my old fridge ( which works great ) to my fathers neighbor who will put it in his garage. Really one issue I had with my old one was it was almond color and looking old after almost 8 years of garage use. Here's the new fridge and I painted the handles silver.

Since I got the new fridge and since there has been pestering I mean motivation about painting I decided to give Shorty some paint ****. I painted all the bottom of new storage shelf, back splash, w/h cover and support post.

I was still able to keep my storage next the the fridge and it's actually more cause this one is slightly smaller.

While I had the roller out I painted the work top on the craftsman bench and vise plate.

It was super hot out in the garage lately. Yes it was 1:10 in morning and here the temp/humidity levels. The #1 is remote sensor just outside garage door and other is inside the garage.

It's days like this I wish I had the money for a/c for the garage.

Very little beer but the best selection of sodas I've ever seen in a frig.

Somehow I don't think Shorty is going to let up on you about painting but, the area you did paint looks great and here's hoping that new fridge keeps the food and drink cold and at the ready.

Ok all. I need a GJ ruling.

I saw the ad for the totes for craftsman tool boxes. I rounded up 5 miscellaneous totes and went and brought new totes (see below) to make the trade today. Now the burger is reneging. I call bull$hit!

 I'm calling a snake in the woodpile on this one. Some little birdie told me this whole thing smells like a skunk just walked through the backyard.

Dlc will sit back and wait for the chapter of this story to finish and abstain from making a GJ ruling until then. Sorry Shorty.

Thank you taumac for setting me up on the Garage Journal. This looks like a great place with great people. I really wanted to THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for letting me buy your vintage craftsman tool boxs. It will be a honor to have such a beautiful collection. I'll be over once my son in law is available with his truck and trailer. I can't wait to set them up and use them. Thank you once again! Andy

dlcwent,
I think you're correct.
I looked directly at the CL ad, and there is NO way to contact the seller.
The "reply below" box is greyed out, and there is no email or phone # in the ad.....hmmmmm:headshake

Wow, this just got better than I could have even imagined. Now we have a new member and he's trading Gerard some totes for the wall of craftsman. Okay, I'm into a good story and this one might be better than the Tampa and Strouty saga. (Haven't you heard the latest on that one?) I'll be happy to fill any of you in if you want to know.

Oh excuse my manners.....Welcome to the GJ Andy. You are about to become one of the most famous GJ members.
