Okay you guys. I'm almost done laughing now. There, I'm under control.

Shorty, you nailed it. It's the color I've always dreamed of:supergay: I hope you can finish the rest of them before I get there.

Gerard, you threw me with that new avatar more than all the other guys did back when they all became Tampa for a week or so. I'm still not sure I'm a fan, but whatever, I'll get used to it. So you don't have to clean out the boxes, I'll be happy to take them as is. And CC didn't send anything pink. As you know, she's into black.

Craig, I only bought the boxes, what he does with the money is out of my control.

G, what's been happening in the shop, some of us haven't heard much from you, and you know what they say about idle hands.:lol_hitti:evil:

Craig, I think we should all be more considerate. Mourning such a loss doesn't end until the bodie...er boxes are moved to their final resting place. Gerard just needs some time, you know, a period of adjustment. For goodness sake, that's a whole wall of cask...er Craftsmen.  :sad:    :drink:

What's going on Gerard? Are you having sellers remorse? I really don't want to be the one responsible for your disappearance. The deal can be reversed. Just give me a holler.

Does anyone living closer to Gerard have a genuine interest in buying the WOC?

Not much going on in shop. Got my new layout perfected. Once Dan picks up the WOC. I'll be able to put new layout in place.

No Dan not at all. Just not much to update. I really want to do my new reveal once my new layout is in place. In the meantime my son move to Oregon and been spending the past two weeks cleaning and fixing his truck for sale. We talked privately and the WOC is yours and going forth with my plan.

Bob, you're freaking funny! :bounce:

Gerard, we look forward to hearing updates from you.

The updates will come. When I made the deal with Dan he wasn't going to be able to come to Florida to pick them up until January/ February. I'm totally fine with that I have no big problem so I worked on some layout ideas I've been working on my sons truck and spending some quality time with the wife.

See Shorty, the Prez has COLD beer waiting for his members when they show up. LOL. I have been working on mobile bench, new welding table and the cart but not much forward progress.

Glad to see you are still doing a little in the garage including cracking a cold one now and again. (That's official garage business too.) Especially during this transition period, Post Wall Of Craftsman.

Well, I guess it's time to show SOME progress. I had to make alittle room for the WOC and my new layout. Well first I should say I sold off the Craftsman drill press. I bought it to match the WOC and I did have plans for it even after sold the WOC but things weren't working for it. It went to good member and I can visit it because it's only 3 hours north of me in Shortys place. That's one thing out of the way and where do I put the WOC until it heads north. Hmmmmmm, only one place to go? 993d1b9b0c01b9cd00c955d2f995b93a.jpg

Yep, in the corner. Move the fridge to block the door. And stack the wall. No cabinets where harmed in the process.

This helps me keep this path clear.

Well I couldn't keep all them there so I put the last 2 here.
bb0994c1b1006bc72beaac092c89965d.jpg

The old WOC is now the new work wall.
0dd62f364e5509f2b091cc0a47e2f810.jpg

It's a mess but will have my tall welding cabinet, a welding cart with some sort of table for welding or "HOT" work. Then I'm finally going to make a mobile work bench from the mobile table I had near the sink. This will be good cause I never had one. Sorry I did have a mobile bench on that wall which was before I was on the GJ but this will be much more. The rest is a secret. LOLOLOLOLOL.

It's really been a difficult new layout process. It's not because the WOC is here or anything. The main issues I'm having new layout been working on isn't for the 5 Stitches Garage but for the 5 Stitches Garage version 2.0 once I move. The layouts are totally different all using a 22 wide by 20 deep garage. Then take in account I will move again down the road and all making it all work in another 2 car. We ( wife and I ) have been taking about places we like to move and none include increasing house size if anything downsizing to something with a 2 car garage. So take that allllllllllllll into account has been a challenge to say the least.

I know most people at my age are looking to for a bigger house and garage. Honestly, only few years ago I thought we where staying here forever. We love the area and made our house a home but market crash of 2008 left us upside down on this house. Now deal with inlaws house and actually having the ability to move to somewhere else is something we always talked about but never thought possible. Now what's all have to do with me NOW at age 42? That's a good question. Well, previous to GJ I moved this garage around just as much as I done posting it on the GJ. In face I probably moved or changed this garage more the 10 people would do in a lifetime combined. So I've learned what I need and want in garage.

Some might think I gone ape **** crazy selling the WOC, DP, and direction I'm going in but I have a method to madness.

So the cat is out of the bag. Gerard I'll do my best to get those boxes out of your way ASAP. I've talked to a couple of people and moving companies. I still want to come down and see all you guys, but I might get the boxes shipped up here. We'll be in touch.

Good news that you will have a new garage someday to plan for. I'm sure it ads some complication until you get there but its a new challenge. Waiting patiently for the details that I'm sure are running around in you head about now. But as you said, you've had lots of practice at this so, practice makes perfect!

Dan, my only concern if I were you is the the boxes getting additional wear and tear. G is the only person I know that rearranges empty unused boxes that he don't even own.:lol_hitti

It's some kind of a infliction, he just can't leave it alone. He's been to my place twice and I've been up there and I think it's contagious, I find myself changing stuff:shocking:. Maybe when you get them up there in the cold it'll kill it off.:dunno:

We even put up signs to warn everyone:

I thought it was too quiet round here. Gerard not posting is a sign of things happening. Now I see what and why. Now my brain hurts trying to follow what is "really" happening. I think I will just sit back and watch.

Yeah, G will no doubt end up with a good plan, it's the journey that's interresting to watch.:lol_hitti

Did you notice the HF ad on the floor? I wonder if that's a sublimer message?:dunno:

He has been talking about Mac and even mentioned a Vidmar recently.

Yeah, it's a bunch of stuff happening at once. I sat there and looked at the WOC some time before the news about inlaws house. I was on the fence about selling it then and once I found out about inlaws and tried to lay things out it just didn't work. I have several ideas in my head and one was called the "Packing Crate" garage. 3 bare walls with nothing on them then you roll the modules in and set up shelving. All units self contented with electrical and lighting. Although, I'm not going to that extreme I am going for a easy set up garage. It's a challenge for sure but welcomed cause I honestly don't want to go through another 10 year build.

Yeah, toooo quiet. A lot of planning and working on new layout post WOC. Learning from Craig to plan on paper. Im working on 2 different layouts and dealing with decluttering all at same time is enough to confuse anyone. My verbal interpretation of what I'm doing doesn't help either.

That's why I'm here.... the entertainment! I love old MAC cabinets and I am interested in a Vidmar or Lista to replace that new cabinet I got. I know of one real cheap only 3 hours away.

Those HF 44 have been real good cabinets and can't beat the price. I have seen some old MAC's on CL lately plus some other ideas.

I like this to replace the new cabinet.

I always wanted something like this.

b5cf388e909820606710d1c3bb7ea751.jpg

I honestly loaded up the 2 HF44's with everything well most everything and been working out of the cantilever box. I love vintage cabinets but not looking to build a wall of them again like the WOC. Maybe a bottom roller like the MBC or taco box or Mac stack. Still pondering my thoughts on which way I want to go.

G, can you throw up a mud map or pic of the next garage dimensions ? Just wondering how deep benches etc can be without impacting on car park space.

I'll guess that you would maintain a wall of totes of sorts which is pretty easy to do as it's just shelving, but do you use a lot of draw space to need lots of tool cabinets ? Just thinking about bench space options that might work and be portable garage-to-garage. Ie mobile, welding, woodwork etc.

If wall hanging space is standard garage-to-garage you could do French cleats which would only cost you a day or 2 to re-install, then you are back in business.

Wifie and I would down size too if we did anything, BUT I would have a nice size shed :)

Cheers GB

GB, I don't think he really needs all that drawer space, he just stores beer bottle caps in some of them.:evil::beer::beer:

The French cleats work really well and hold a lot of weight.

To stop any confusion I decided to do this.

House A
Current.

House B
Inlaws.

House C
Future.

Ok current house is House A. At some point down the road we inherit House B. At that point we will move into House B and sell House A. The reason is House B is paid off and hopefully be able to get sell House A and get out from upside down mortgage. We will live in House B awhile saving more money and taking time to see what area we want to move to and that will be House C.

Ok here's the garages side by side.

63720f2efaa24712dd22b1c1acbe456f.jpg

They are both 22 wide by 20 deep.

The 5 Stitches V1 has a extra foot on the right back side so that's 21 deep at that point. Now where I lose is hallway closet the bumps into the garage. This garage also has the sink.

Now the 5 Stitches V2 is basically a 22 by 20 deep square. Only thing in way is fridge and water heater. The F is the fridge in left drawing. Now problem is that my truck is almost 18ft long. So my truck can only be parked on right side looking inside. Now that puts from the entry door to the WH I can't put anything behind the truck or I lose my walk way.

My plan is from fridge to front on left side will be tool box storage. The right side from side door to the front will be my fab area. Under WH will be lawn equipment and compressor. I will also have a desk and 2 shelving units. Forgive the mess but here's the garage.

To add to this... Knowing down the road I will move into House B im changing, buying, selling, and decluttering House A to prepare. Now both these layouts and stuff must work all in preparation for House C down the road because most likely not getting a bigger garage and mostly have another 2 car garage. So what I do now will impact House B and House C.
