Looks good Dan, kudos to ya for letting those poor casters rest:lol_hitti

So, I got to ask, did the just end up in that arrangement or was there some planning?

Dan, years ago there was a Sears outlet store a few towns north of me. The Craftsman refurbished and scratched and dented tool section looked a lot like your shop but the boxes didn't look that good.

I must admit everyone been real real busy in there shops and ive been a lazy ***. Well you guys gave me the motivation to get somewhat cleaned back up out in the garage. I got some things done and at least found one side of the garage.

493a35abf282748ed4eb34d8bc9f6078.jpg

I took the file cabinet and gave it to the wife for her office. It didn't make sense right now to make room in 5 Sititches Garage for my desk area. When I get to next home I'll just make it there.

ebb6bbfc65ab416002f30a727f1ec0f0.jpg

I just got rid of this. Actually I took it apart, fixed issues, and reassembled it. I just realized I didn't have a good enough use for it so I put it out at curb and it found new home within few hours.

I also moved around the 44s again. LOL. Actually, it return to a previous idea. I moved my Auto, GT (General Tools) and SC ( side cabinet) back to the old WOC.

A night shot

The Auto,GT and SC cabinets just work better on this wall. I build the tops for theses and especially the Auto 44 is the one I'll roll out if working on a car. Theses 44's are my newest ones and so older 44s went back the the HF bench on back wall. Those hold my home tools and misc stuff. I can move them out if needed but most likely stay where they are. I thought of 3 44s and SC on the old WOC but I really liked the look of my original HF bench on back wall.

761cd59a86333df7aa2f855693beb7d4.jpg

This area I'm going to use it as my semi clean bench area. I can easily use length of this bench to sort fasteners, and work on lawn equipment, or just have better access to tools. I put them against the wall and sticks only out 24" from the wall. The old WOC was at least 28". This is main walkway and wife's side of garage so it be nice having alittle extra room to walk and open car door.

I thought about multiple vises on both benches or my 2 Prentiss's on the 60in HFMB. I'll decided im just gonna put my Prentiss 19 1/2 on the 60 HFMB. Its big vise with swivel base and jaw. It should be able to handle everything I need for work done over there. I won't put one on the Auto 44 just because I like it on right side and it's easy to hit arm on it going in and out the door. I have many clamp on vises to use when needed or just walk over to others Ill have mounted.

Yes still have to paint the lawn equipment rolling shelf but I'm thinking of rebuilding it soon than later. I need something bigger and maybe different configuration. It was build from scrap as prototype to fit under a WH like one I had pictured below.

82224cdca727c109873f85b40930e8fc.jpg

It works but don't like look of it next the my HF 44s. I thinking just rebuild something for this garage in that corner and worry about it again when I move in future. Right now I got other bigger problems to fix out here so that give me sometime to think of better idea.

Gerard, version 589234 looks good. Now, slowly step back, drop any ideas floating around , that's it, take another step back.
I'm just trying to preserve the casters on the 44's.:D
You really need to go get some casters from the military surplus place, you know , the kind they use on the flight line where a box gets pushed around 1000's of feet in a day.:bounce:

Craig, If you and Shorty go over while G is at work and drill through the cement under the boxes and put in anchors. Attach the boxes so they can't be moved and sit back and watch what happens when G tries to move them. I would recommend having some medical personal close by as he might actually blow up from frustration.

Maybe just crazy glue in the wheel bearings.

G that looks good. Need a Killian's on that bench under the light.

To save the castors you can turn them into a Steevo inspired bench :D

GB

Thanks GB. Your right I forgot the Killians. No Steevo bench for me. I have to have ability to moved them when needed. LOL. Once I get them where I like they don't move to often. The old 44's didn't move off that back wall for years.

Actually I'm thinking the other direction and you could go "all in" with new technology. Add motorized casters to all the boxes and carts with RC servos then, sit back in your chair with a cold one and drive them around the garage as you see fit. Well maybe that's too for out there……..:wtf:

I'm constantly moving things around as well always trying to find that "best" possible layout for tool boxes and cabinets. Part of the garage fun I guess.

Now that's a idea. We can take that one step further and have app on phone. We can program the changes to be made and by time we get home everything will be moved into new layout. That would awesome.

There's nothing wrong with moving things around. Are you going to find out if something works if you don't move it around. I guess the big difference is that I posted every time I move stuff around. It's gotten to the point that people are freaking dizzy. LOL

As you know I am 72 and have had a workshop as long as you are old. It was only in the last three years that I have quit moving stuff. Moving stuff qualifies you for retirement one of these days. It does not pay as well as Social Security but it makes you know you really really tried to find the absolute best layout.
You have a lot yet to move. I wish I had better news for you my friend!!

Best Regards
Herb

You could start putting them in the middle of your shop. I had to do that! :D

Very true. I sold the WOC and went in the HF44 direction. Had 2 already so figured 2 more and side would give me a nice wall of tool storage and bench top above. After setting it up I thought maybe I screwed up. I started thinking maybe 2 top chest and 2 side lockers would have been better? Then all this Listas and Vidmars started showing up from nowhere down here. Not only showing up but for cheap money. OH MAN WTF.... now I really start second guessing myself.

I guess I can't complain. The "garage gods" work in mysterious ways. LOL

Oh no! Does this mean the WOC turned WOHF is now going to become the WOLV?

Where are you going with that G?

Sluggo, I really like that idea of yours. I wonder who'll have the first one to show off here on the GJ.

Well, Strouty being the great guy he is decided to donate few of his Listas to me. Those will go on the fab wall side. So I'll have a WOC and a WOL. [emoji482]

I drew up a layout of short Lista/Vidmar in middle of his parking spot that would double as a bar. For some silly reason he wants to use the garage to garage his truck.

Yes your right sir. I know at least 2 moves and 2 houses. I wish I had a 20 foot long wall here so I could put the refrigerator and all my toolboxes up on one wall. Unfortunately this garage doesn't have one but I know the next one will. Until then I just have to shuffle some things around to make it all work here.

Test run and new layout.

I have 2012 Hyundai Veloster in the garage I'm working on. I thought post some action shots and benefits of new layout.

Its really nice to keep this bench empty. It allows me space to keep organized especially when working on a uncommon vehicle to me.

What are you doing to the Veloster? I must say this is the first non garage related project I've seen you do in way too long on here. :)

Good friends of ours. She having transmission issues. She doesn't have 2,4,6 or reverse. This car has a manual style transmission that shifts electronically. I tired one thing last night by swapping the shift actuators bit that didn't move the issue to 1,3, or 5. I now think its the shift gate actuator which mean tearing car back down again tonight.

Numerical order??? ****... that's asking a lot of me. I'm lucky to get them in at least procedure order. LOL
