Will wire the new injection system tomorrow and then should be running again.:) Still have to refit the cruise control and make a new heat shield for the Brakes / master cylinder as it is so close to the Turbo. Will also add a sump stone guard this time. :bounce:

Plenty of other things to keep me busy. New throttle linkage took a few days to design considering it had to work in the opposite direction to the old one.

:wtf::wtf::wtf:
Gee I bet that was fun :shocking:

Waiting for the Auto Elec now.

Farrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr* Is this project ever going to be "finally" finished
(but of course, I can't talk............I can't even get mine started)
(Though I did chat to Rod Tech today & apparently my stuff isn't too far away............................yeah! right!! :wtf::wtf:)

So I hope the sparky doesn't have tooooo muchto do (we all know who much they charge!) no wonder we do most of our own electrical stuff in house

Goood luck ! (as usual) Simon

Gee I bet that was fun :shocking:

I can tell you that cable mount was the major delay  swapping the motor.

Auto Elec has finished:). Just have to prime the injectors and it will go.
After that I need to make a new connection for the cruise control that should be easy. I also need a heat shield for the Mastercylinder from the turbo as the old one will not fit and I will also have to make a stone guard for the sump. Many of these items are things I should have done before but did not get to it.

Also making a rolling engine stand for the boat anchor (the old motor) is next on the to do list. May as well do something with it considering the way I had it all set up :lol_hitti and looking good.

A quick update. it is running :) but still have air in the system to blead out, also have a solonoid problem to work out with Cummins as the new fuel system needs this to open and shut the fuel supply. Not sure yet what is the problem but should be sorted out in the next few days.:)

I had Cummins back today. All running again now. Still have to raise the Air Compressor off the fuel lines as well as make a heat shield for the brake mastercylinder, a stone shield for the sump and reconnect the cruise control. :):):):):)

Changed over the Engine no yesterday. All went well, although some delay whilst they (Vic Roads) checked my engineers report to make sure I had not put a bigger Engine in. The F4 ran well and I even got to use the cruise control for the first time. Now I am just waiting for the modem to tune the LPG (propane) system. I need to up the idle speed a little.

Seeing I usualy have to park in the car park I think not. I will be there on Friday if all goes well and may call on you on my way home now I have your address. F4 will not idle properly and I want to get that fixed as well as the LPG (propane) before I do to many more k's (miles :)).

After about an hour and a half on the phone yesterday and with the company dialed into the modem hooked into the computer on the F4 I can now say it is tuned. Was interesting to hear the change in the motor when the LPG (propane) was turned on. Amasing to think this can all be done by remote.

Just a couple of little jobs now to finish. :bounce:

Still working on my the fuel figures as I have done well over 1000 kilometers
(about 620 Miles) and used about 150 Litres of Diesel (33 Gallons) and to date have only used half a tank of LPG (Propane) I hope my conversion from KPH to MPH and Litres to Gallons is correct. Looks like I will get nearly 2000 kilomtres to a tank of LPG.

Also working on the stand for the old 6BT Cummins Engine so I can put it on display. Will post photos in the near future.

Still working on my fuel figures with the Diesel LPG. Still working on the Bio Diesel fuel trailer. Will post more information as I progress.

Recently I found this web site - http://billetbadges.com/

Although very slow to deal with I am looking at a variation of this plus another custom badge that I may or may not use on the F4.

A couple of other ideas as to what they do.

Also waiting on some magazine features. Australian Street Rodding, Truckin Life and Cummins Commentary are the three in progress as well as Retro Autos.

Wow I don't know how the hell I missed this thread! Anyway GREAT job! I'm rather partial to 6bt motors too... I can't believe that the C6 is going to live behind that for long. Through a #10 plate in that and the trany is toast.

William....

My first choice was an Alison but it was to big for the application and I did want to use a TREMEC as my second choice but when I asked them (TREMEC) they said I would (or the 6BT would) kill the TREMEC. The C6 has been built for the job with a manual shift kit etc. and when you look at what the C6 has been used for with some of the big V8s in the past then it was the best choice. In fact the place I got my US Gear Overdrive from here (Aust Dealer) uses the C6 with a US Gear Overdrive as a conversion to run the GM V8 Diesels in early F100's, as we no longer have the Ford F100, F150, F250 or F350 on the market here. The last F Series we had here in Australia was Brazilian Ford built and in the end Ford Australia took them off the market so the Diesel swap either Cummins 6BT or 4BT or the GM Diesel is a popular swap into the old F Series built by Ford Australia.

Having not been able to add photos for a few days I can now add these two showing how Cummins make the adaption for the Ford. I believe Cummins make these as mine came from Cummins but they may be an outsourced product as I have never really checked :headscrat. Was something new for Cummins here in Australia.

Back in an earlier post I mentioned I was going to build a Bio Diesel Fuel trailer using a Freightliner truck tank. I have been so busy with other work I had to farm this one out and as I can not weld some of the things required it made life easier for me to do this.
l_c07736f45f974c04aab12bcb837fcbf3.jpg

This is how it looks at present. As yet to have guards (fenders) made and some floor added. I also have to wire and fit LED lights etc. as well as some paint and then fit up the fuel pump.

I also intend to fit a tow bar to the back of the fuel trailer so I can ball to ball tow another trailer. Not sure of the legality here as yet as I can not get a response out of the authorities. If not it will make a great place to mount a flag pole and fly the Eureka flag.

A bit like me having an Aussie flag at Ballarat this year :wtf:
I never thought anything of it, as I'm proud to be an Aussie, that is until one realised where the home of the Eureka Flag comes from :lol_hitti

A similar flag was also flown here in Castlemaine Chewton & Bendigo due to the uprising of the Miners protest. Also a Chinese version of a similar flag. This one is best known.

I can trace family back to the First Fleet and Eureka so that Flag means a lot to me. Something I will be flying with pride.

It has been tuned for some time now so that I am very happy about that. Still working on my fuel figures due to the size of the LPG tank.

As for the Badges I have two on order.
A variation of this in the new Cummins Corporate Colors

and this is the artwork for the other.
