My Facebook feed has been absolutely flooded with photos from the Vintage. Looks like it was a great time. Glad you had a mostly uneventful drive there and back.

Also, I felt motivated by you and so I've joined the E91 gang!

Actually just updated my thread a little earlier with some photos. 2009 328xi. Monaco Blue over old man beige leather. It's certainly not perfect, exterior-wise, but should clean up rather nicely. Interior is in really good shape, though!

When you got your wheels, where did you get them from? Trying to find who has the best deals on Apex wheels.

Awesome!!! I got mine from Apex direct, a friend from the bimmerforums days used to work with them so I got a little hook up.

Just a quick 02 update. We have been refreshing the interior and fixing some little bits here and there. We pulled the glass to put a new headliner in and yesterday the glass finally went back in. We ordered a set of URO seals for the glass and they were just too firm, so we had to get OEM seals. Rather than risk breaking the glass, my dad reached out the interior shop down the road and they suggested someone. The old timer showed up and slapped the glass back in, it maybe took an hour.

We have a little buttoning up to do but I hope to get it back on the road soon. As nice as the e9 is, the buzzy little 02 is too much fun. I really miss driving it.

Small update from the weekend. I went over Saturday and picked up the 02. My dad apparently had a left over led strip, so we wired in a 3rd brake light.

52129017716_6185baf7a0_b.jpgUntitled by Nick Wood, on Flickr

The light works great, but there is a small issue that arose.... as you can see from the video.

https://flic.kr/p/2nqvyEA

We will get that figured out.... All and all we have a little tuning to do and figure out why the brakes are draining my tank, but its awesome to have it back on the road.

The rest of the weekend I hung out with the family and some neighbors. Here is my application photo for father of the year....

Thats about all for now... I really hope to get the garage organized again this week since I am thinking about getting a rowing machine *see above photo for reason why* and the garage will be the best place for it. I have also been messing with watches and photography a lot more lately. I started an instagram page with my buddy Southern_watch and have been snapping a lot of pics. Here are couple recent ones.

I picked up this Seiko recently and I absolutely love it, but its running really slow.

52129288199_13af35166c_b.jpgUntitled by Nick Wood, on Flickr

So I tried my hand at regulating it a little last night. Its better but I am probably going to have to work on it a little more.

Anyways thanks for stopping by, I hope to update more often.

Got the 02 out a little this weekend. Friday I took it to a friends house to hang out for a bit.

52142070852_ebd702c50d_b.jpgUntitled by Nick Wood, on Flickr

And Saturday, my wife and I went on a "day date" without the kiddos. We stopped by a cars and coffee meet, got some tacos, and hit some antique shops. She saw an estate sale sign on the way home... In case you were wondering, yes two deer heads will fit in a 2002.

52143111678_58ce086274_b.jpgUntitled by Nick Wood, on Flickr

I noticed that there is still a bit of a tuning issue, it has a stumble at like 2800-3500, doesn't start great, and it was dieseling when I shut it down. Saturday, I left it with my dad when we picked up the kids and Sunday we tuned it a little.

52143093916_198a9119e8_b.jpgUntitled by Nick Wood, on Flickr

This is a little more accurate than my **** dyno.

We need to order some jets, but its close and its already running a lot better. It will probably be good to go this weekend. The rest of the day yesterday we just kinda hung out. I sent my dad a video a couple weeks ago of my son carrying some bricks around and he was worried about him dropping one on his foot, so he made some new "bricks" out of scrap 2x4's. He loved them.

52143580880_af43f91e6d_b.jpgUntitled by Nick Wood, on Flickr

And ended the weekend with some pancakes and bacon....

Mpower, bimmerforums, havent heard that one in a while. Remember my time there vividly, as a massive E36 fan. I'm 99MPower on BFC as well. I ran the DIY/FAQ page there, and did tons of DIYs. What was your screen name over there?

My race car "Traqrat" actually was one of the first cars on APEX's website for E36 M3 fitment as I ran square 17x9, 255s on JRZ DAs.

I read the first 10-15 pages, and the last 15ish pages over the last week, stuck out here on deployment with the US Navy. Looks great, and congrats on getting the house back together after the tornado damage.

I had the same screen name on BFC. I had a falling out with some of the mods in OT and left, I haven't been on in probably 8 years.

Hey long time no see. Life has been crazy. I leave Thursday for Oshkosh so work has been pretty frantic. I have plans to do some cleaning in the garage soon but it has just become a catch all for baby stuff/toys. Anyway I did a little project this weekend. My wife found this Old Timer at an estate sale for $7.

I gave it a quick dunk in the ultrasonic cleaner.

52224609884_ca0c01e004_b.jpgUntitled by Nick Wood, on Flickr

Soaked it in gun oil and cleaned off the rust with some 400 grit sand paper and then gave it a quick sharpening.

And here is the final product after polishing it.

Sunday I spent the day cruising with some friends and hitting a couple of car meets. I gave the m3 its first proper wash in months.

52224338946_1aa3e7b603_b.jpgUntitled by Nick Wood, on Flickr

Even a quick interior vac and wipe down.

All and all a fun weekend, just ready to get the next 2 weeks over with...... I also think I need a Porsche....

Did you get the email about Euro Auto Festival coming back this year? Going to be at the BMW CCA facility this fall, October 22nd.

Should be a fun car Saturday as that falls on the same Saturday as Cars & Coffee.

Wife and I drove up to WoodMizer in Newnan a couple weeks ago to pick up some parts and heading back up there tomorrow as well. We were both impressed with the beautiful homes in the downtown area. I just picked up a FSJ (86 Grand Wagoneer) project to resurrect.

Hey long time no see. Not a ton has happened in the last few months. I worked Oshkosh, bought some watches, spent time with family, etc etc.

The 02 is probably the best it has ever been under my ownership. Brakes are quiet, the interior has been refreshed, got an alignment, properly tuned, etc etc.

52384487197_1f07e6eae7_b.jpgUntitled by Nick Wood, on Flickr

I even got a set of cocomats for it.

52385417391_b47731fbb7_b.jpgUntitled by Nick Wood, on Flickr

The twins turned 2. Yes they are already 2!!!

Sadly last week, the building where my wife had an antique booth burned to the ground. We lost a good bit of inventory but insurance will cover most of it. I just feel really bad for the owners of the building, and the vendors that may not have been insured. Thankfully no one was hurt.

52384478657_7b878c1a4a_c.jpgUntitled by Nick Wood, on Flickr

Friday my wife planned on going to a large antique sale, but we dont have a booth anymore so she was on the fence. I told her she should go just to take her mind off everything, and I am glad she did. She got a lot of great stuff, it made her feel better about everything, and she scored a little Bulova for me.

52384660521_32c2e6e914_b.jpgUntitled by Nick Wood, on Flickr

It wasn't working, very dirty(wrist cheese), and the crown was stuck. I started by pulling the battery to see if there was corrosion and it looked pretty clean. A few days later the battery showed up and I installed it. Put the battery in and.....nothing. But a few seconds later I heard a high pitched hum. It was alive.

52385090845_2107021168_b.jpgUntitled by Nick Wood, on Flickr

I went to work on the crown and immediately broke it....

52383726717_4a69486837_b.jpgUntitled by Nick Wood, on Flickr

One of the guys that I follow on instagram is a bit of a Bulova/Accutron expert, so I shot him a message and he walked me though removing the stem.

52384660426_345a13dd2b_b.jpgUntitled by Nick Wood, on Flickr

And the threads were intact. I have ordered a crown.

52384901468_a0cf65025c_b.jpgUntitled by Nick Wood, on Flickr

This is going to be a fun little watch if I can get it working correctly.

52383726757_9f5b2ff234_b.jpgUntitled by Nick Wood, on Flickr

My wife and I have both made lists of projects that we want to get done. Getting the garage back together is one, and hopefully it will happen this week. Since the weather was amazing and I had some free time, I worked on our Biergarten table. The sun over the last year, made the clear coating start to peal and it was just generally starting to look rough.

52384132718_09d56b7895_b.jpgUntitled by Nick Wood, on Flickr

52383894256_3762870da1_b.jpgUntitled by Nick Wood, on Flickr

Sanded off the flakes and hit it with a couple coats of orange paint. Now it has more of a traditional biergarten feel.

52383726787_cf1492769c_b.jpgUntitled by Nick Wood, on Flickr

I even got around to putting the flag back up.

52383893901_b356bb464b_b.jpgUntitled by Nick Wood, on Flickr

I am hoping to not be as much of a stranger as I have been lately. I really want to get the garage back to its former glory, finish part of the basement, maybe start on that white 2002 shell that I have and there is even the possibility of a new car coming into the collection soon...

That table looks great!

Are you going to come up for Euro Auto Festival next month? That is "technically" the same Saturday that should be Cars & Coffee, could be a fun saturday of car things in Greenville

What happened to reviving your 944? Is that still in the mix?
Its still around.. I think the plan is to sell the XJ wag because there is a new car coming. Then get the Chief running and driving enough to sell. I need to move the white 02 out of my basement to finish that room and we may build that into a trackish car, and then maybe the 944... haha.

Like I said, there was a new car coming. My dad and I picked up this honest little 1983 633csi.

52388508072_0092024d5d_b.jpgUntitled by Nick Wood, on Flickr

Over all its a straight car that is in really go shape mechanically. It has been resprayed. Professional but not show car quality. There is one spot that may have a little filler but I think I can bring the paint back up to driver quality.

52389678248_c37685b57d_b.jpgUntitled by Nick Wood, on Flickr

The interior has some wear and tear, but its going to clean up great. I cant wait to do a 50/50 shot on one of the seats after I start cleaning, it is going to be so satisfying.

52388508087_bb3476787b_b.jpgUntitled by Nick Wood, on Flickr

So the over all plan right now is to give it a good detail, fix some small issues, and drive it a little bit. I would love to source some better wheels since its already lowered, and maybe a Nardi steering wheel. Detail hopefully starts early next week, so stay tuned.

Love the old Bulova. I only have a couple modern watches in my rotation (and those are even homages or recent releases of older watches). And that new 6 series is gorgeous!

I must have forgotten about the 944. I am on the hunt for one myself...once I sell my C6 convertible.

Nick, are you considering a bumper change? The 633 is such a beautiful car it's a shame the bumpers look like warts. If the re-paint was done well, a bumper swap would be relatively painless. The euro bumpers really clean up the front and rear.

Of course, I'm a little biased, having gone the extra step to color match the front and rear valance panels on my euro-spec 1979 733i...
1979 BMW 733i.jpg
...and got rid of the 5 mph bumper on the PT Cruiser. Both cars also got Eibach springs.

That may happen eventually, but for now I may just tuck the front bumper a bit.

We have learned that with two kids, we need room for stuff and we lost our shed in the tornado. Honestly losing that shed was a blessing, it was awful. Anyway our insurance guy kept emailing us asking if we were going to replace our shed so he could close our claim so my wife went to check them out yesterday. One text, and less than 24 hours later we have shed. I need to build some steps and probably put some lattice and landscaping around it in the spring, but I am happy with it. It has some nice loft space and will be perfect for kids toys and random stuff.
