Hello. Not new here but haven't been active for a long time.

In November I moved to my new property in Illinois from Toledo Ohio. New Shop, New Thread. After unloading and a lot of head scratching, I have begun working on the space.

Shop is 24x34, Hip Roof with 8ft ceilings. Plotting for an expansion off the back end with carport.

After filling up with a few trailer loads from Toledo,

After a great deal of organizing and cramming as much as I could fit into the attached garage, I proceeded to undo every done thing and clear everything away from the walls. Ripped out all electrical, insulated all walls and prepped for plywood.

Recently ran new 100A sub panel, put up 3/4 ply around all walls, painted & trimmed. Finalizing window trim and then will run new electrical on exterior of walls. The goal is to keep every thing clean and modular. With potential expansions in the future I want to keep everything flexible. Trim is cleated all the way around the shop for storage and bins. A second run will be going in over the windows to hold cabinets.

Thanks!

Yes I am. The Bike on the top is a Buell 1125r with some modifications that I use for track duty.

The z06 gets track time as well.

I used to run Mid O, Gingerman, and Grattan. Not out too often. Once or twice a year maybe. Been out to Autobahn, and road America too. Anxious to get on the track more often!

Threw together some quick cable management, got tired of tripping over / losing everything. Going to add some additional supports against the walls with roller bearings to make it stronger and easier to slide. Great help so far. 0510202014_HDR.jpg

Yep sure do. I do electrical repairs on the side and industrial maintenance for a living. I have the rest of the cable stashed away for now. The shop is in need of cable and lumber/stock racks. They're on the list!

Made it back out to the shop today. Been busy with some other things for a bit. Brought home a new addition to the family! Getting him familiar with the garage and setting him up a space for the new helper.

He doesnt fetch bottles yet but we're working on it. Lol

Starting to move things around and find homes for things. Will pull everything back apart and paint workbenches, shelves, and and cabinets at a later date. I need to get this area back in shape to finish up some projects. May have another excavator coming in next week I will need to do some work on.

A few updates. Discovered groundhogs under the slab. We actually saw on win a tree the other day. But does that make them treehogs???

I have a crack going across the slab that sounds empty underneath. Going to drill down and see what's going on under there. Hopefully the hogs haven't done too much damage. In the meantime Tucker will take care of the hogs. He hit 50lbs the other day and is always looking for trouble!

The shop floor is clear enough to work on now and the lift is functional again. Got the truck in to replace suspension this weekend. It feels good to be able to work son something in here.

In the process of offloading a few rarely used tools to bring in a Tree 2UVR Knee this week. I'm already almost out of space... The more I work on this the more I realize I will need to add a bay / Fab room off the back of the shop.

Before I finish the ceiling I think I have decided build in scissor trusses on the lift side & keep the attic over the side with the 2 bays. This should give me enough room with the lift to get most vehichles at least 4ft off the ground. Then I can insulate, install climate control & finish lighting.

Progress is slow but we're moving! 0811202054.jpeg

Build a garden shed for sure and get all yard related items out of the garage. I just widened the doors on my shed and moved the mower out of the garage and into the shed, got back a nice usable corner of the shop.
