Thanks for all the pics that you did give us. I too understand your concerns about people wanting to much information making you nervous, I would feel the same way. I hope that you are able to post pics in the future.

On another note, is there any way that we can make it so that you have to be a member of the board to see the pics?

That's a good idea. I'm on several boards, where you cannot view pictures unless you are a registered member. I don't know how difficult it would be for the webmaster to do that, but it sure seems like a good idea to me.

I would feel alot better about posting pics, if there were at least *some* hoops you had to jump through in order to see pics..

Having this site go with a special passwords or whatever be that much of a deterrent? You should be more worried about neighbors, friends and relatives than anyone that takes their time to read this board. From what I understand, most robberies are not from strangers…

It’s same at the airport,, particularly on International flights. Checking, triple checking passports, taking off shoes, X-raying luggage. Will all the extra measures actually stop future terrorist’s actions? Or just give travelers a false sense of security?

I flew first class flight to Hawaii last year. Far less security, and I was given stainless steel utensils to eat my meal with. I dropped the knife (very sharp with 3” of serrations) on the floor and couldn’t find it. I mentioned it to the stewardess, she said don’t worry about it. Heck all a terrorist need to fly first class and have all the instruments he needed to take over the plane.

I see no harm in posting interior photos of your home. You've already told us what to expect, so it's not like it'll be a surprise at this point.

It wouldn't bother me at all. But then again, every other door on my street has better gear then this. Why somebody would single you out is beyond me. I guess between my dogs, my security and lack of common sense, I post pictures...or maybe it;s because I don't think my junks worth stealing.

Utah, I'm sorry to hear this too and fully understand your reasoning.

I do want to tell you I did look forward to seeing your build and that it is one the the most unique, clever and interesting ones I have seen on here. You did something that many have dreamed of but very few, if any besides you, have actually done.

I'm hoping too that you'll be able to post back up a few pics to go with this thread. Only give out as much info as you're confortable with, we will understand if you need to crop photos, black out house numbers and license plates, no close ups or descriptions of certain things..........basically the typical privacy stuff you see on certain forums.

Like others have said, I hope you stay and take part in other topics on this forum. We'd love to have you around and you can give insight and suggestions to other's builds on here.

I'd love to see the finished project, but only on three conditions......I don't want to know where you live (Utah, duh!), I don't want to know anything about your security system, and I don't want to know how much this cost you - if you can post within those conditions, bring it on!!!

Sorry to see it go, but understand why. Family security is 1st priority.
I , as I am sure we all love to see incrediable builds of homes, garages, cars, etc. And then share them to our 'friends'. I love sharing what I have, but also have to be careful what I show. And it is a shame! An I have much less then what I have seen here. Sites like this are an insperation to us all, and it really gets me when it is spoiled. I am not too sure there is much that can be done to prevent the ********* from doing bad. You can block the search bots, you can require member passwords, even charge for 'premium' content. it's tough as a webmaster/forum owner to keep the rif-raf out. But in the end it must come down to being careful what you show.
I am sorry it has come to this, i was looking forward to completion photos but I am not going to whine and put you in danger.

My painter is awesome (yes they are all painted on) he used a 360 degree laser level and marked the wall with a pencil, then chaulked those lines and ran the blue tape accordingly.

He did a great job...

It's actually Knotty Alder.

There are seperately wired outlets up there for rope lighting that will be installed, should give it a pretty cool look.
