Well, it was a monumental day today...the car is in! Before I show you that here's the garage that I've moved it in from:

My old mans lovely 2 car, epoxy floored garage with loft, compressors and a spray booth (the cardboard box on the left!). A bit cluttered as it's more of a storage area whist my sister is living there.

Here's the car my end, I had to transporter it over...you can see why!:

And finally in, with all of it's junk too! Some more tidying and adjusting needed now:

To Do list:

[X]Get a dehumidifier
[X]Get a threshold weather strip
[X]Finish painting the ceiling
[X]Insulate the garage door.
[X]Put up kitchen cabinets.
[_]Re-insulate the garage door!
[_]Fit the dehumidifier permanent drain
[X]Move my car in.
[_]Get the electrics checked and a breaker installed
[_]Add some more plugs and fluorescent lights
[_]Hand build a sturdy wooden work bench
[_]Hold up a bank so that I can afford to buy a Snap-On roll cabinet
[_]Fill the roll cabinet with tools!
[_]Tile / epoxy floor.

The cost list!
Masonry paint £90
Replacement fluorescent tube £12
Wall hooks £4
Weather strips £105.48
Dehumidifier £156.98
Dehumidifier piping £1.80
16mm, 1ft long masonry bit £18.99
Cabinets £40
Fixings for the cabinets £7.99
Garage door insulation £19.48
Garage door paint £17.99
Bike hangers £0!

Total: £474.71

Looking great. Dropped a few euros but was well worth it. I like that Subaru!!! Looking at a 2013 or 2014 Outback or Tribeca myself.

Best Regards

Thanks. I seem to be a Subaru fan, I also have an '06 3.0 Legacy Spec B estate. Great value cars for the money!

Hello,

Not much happening at the moment I'm afraid, work has taken over. Only 4 days off this month and that's including weekends! :(

The reg plate was a present from my parents a long time ago :) Not sure where the old man got it from but he used to be a 2nd hand car salesman so I'm sure there's a story there somewhere!

So what am I up to?
- Started to paint the garage door, needs a sand and second coat before it's gets show here though :)
- Saving as hard as I can so that I can get a decent tool cabinet/trolley and get my bench built.
- Picked up 50kg of free screed to help level the garage floor before I put down some platic tiles.
- My electrician came round a while back and he's said that I can have 16amps maximum for the whole garage, and 6amps max for the lighting. That's good news and gives me loads to work with. So I've started to look at these LED lamps:
http://www.ledison-led-lights.co.uk/p/Ledison+T8+LED+Tube+120cm+20W/9.htm

Not cheap, but low wattage LED so a great option for me and much cheaper than running a new cable to the garage!

I think that's about it really! Loads done, plenty left to do!

How's yours going?

Same - work taking me away - so no massive progress, the 'To-DO' list seems to get two items added on every time I cross one off!

You are definitely on the home straight now - and I really like the look of those LED tubes - although I'd need 6, and at 32 quid each that would certainly make my wallet try to escape!

However I am very keen to upgrade to LED where possible - I have just fitted 12 of these:

Philips GU10 50 Watt MV Master LED Spot 6, 2700 K, Warm White

in the kitchen and lounge, they are a real replacement for GU10 50W lamps - I wanted to do this some time ago, but the lamps were just not bright enough - now they are.

Looking forward to your next update!

Cheers
Ian

Shame to have that spammer on your thread Ollie but the upside is it bumped the thread to the top and I got to have an interesting read - had missed seeing the recent updates previously for some reason. Good progress there.

Very strange as I never got updates that this thread had been updated too! Oh the neglect!

Work is still really slow but I've managed to get a few bits and pieces done in the mean time...

I picked up some of the cheap matting from Halfords in their Christmas sale, looks much better than the old carpet I had:

I cut it in around the wheel stop, just because I can:

Yes there's more junk in there...a full height ladder now too. I'm wondering where to mount it at the moment. On the wall feels right but it's just going to add to the visual clutter...not sure where yet.

I've started insulating the garage door too:

The permanent drain for the dehumidifier is in, or should that be out? I just need to find a permanent location for the dehumidifier itself now.

I was thinking that the darkest furthest corner away from the door would be the best place as that's where it'll be most stagnant....but most of the moisture will come in from the door. I'm a little undecided at the moment.

A little done...plenty more to go yet.
