Well, I'm a long time lurker on the site and decided I should start up a thread in order to accomplish a couple things.
First, it allows me to introduce myself and my modest garage. My name is Charles and my wife and I bought our home three years ago. We have moved through the house room by room and updated and renovated the entire home. There isn't a square inch left that we haven't painted, patched or rebuilt. The garage has served me well as a base for upgrades to the rest of the house and property, but it is finally its turn. She is small, but I think she has potential.
Second, I hope to gather ideas from forum users as I move toward a space I can be proud of.
Lastly, a journal is going to help me stay on track and making progress.
Well, on to the pictures and story.
Here she is. I told you it was a small garage didn't I. Actually it wasn't always a garage. When we moved here it was a carport. I decided I needed a place to get out of the elements and away from it all so now it is a garage. I don't have any pics of it as a carport, but we can start here.
I have been moving stuff around and building the garage, so it's a bit messy.
I decided the next thing the garage needed in its journey to being a real garage was doors. My wife and I talked about doors and decided I would build them. Heck, I've built most things in this house now. I am building carriage doors that will mimic the style of the house.
One door mocked up.
Second door built.
Doors off and getting painted.
One coat.
Well, it is getting dark so I am calling it quits for today. I won't have to quit with the light much longer.
Tomorrow, I hope to finish the carriage doors and frame in the back door.
