The DeWalt 12 volt brushless Xtreme line has been out for a few months now. The screwdriver is nice for electrical work and other jobs where a adjustable clutch is needed. It is non impacting similar to a drill. I have the older Dewalt 12V brushed screwdriver and like the new Mac brushless

"Old" vs "New" Dewalt socket set.

As a Sunday mechanic I was satisfied with old set I bought few years ago, mostly at that time I wanted to have full deep sockets lines.

Yeah ratchets are a bit to heavy/bulky, sockets are laser marked ...

Here come my new version of the same kit.

Cool, rachets are a bit liter, more slim, sockets have now size stamped.

What do you think ? :0)

I bought a Dewalt 1/4 drive set from Tractor Supply. Included SAE and Metric standard depth sockets a spinner handle and a few driver bits. I freaking love it. The fact it came in a dewalt drill bit style case (tough case?) just sweetened the deal and made in ultra compact set.

I like the stamping and thinner rats. They were good to start with and now they're even better.

I popped into home depot for a few small things and this somehow fell into my kart. My wife is threatening to put a photo of me up at Home Depot with a note that says "Don't allow this man in unsupervised"4485a7c05dac988b533f5d70028e5702.jpg

This little guy has been absolutely fantastic. I’ve been looking for a good cordless screwdriver, but didn’t like any of Milwaukee’s offerings. The size. weight, features, and configuration of this guy has exactly what I wanted. I think I’m going to add the 3/8 impact wrench next.

How did Dewalt get into the air compressor and air compressor accessories business? I picked up a few Dewalt rubber air hoses and they're solid. Priced above Husky and other inexpensive hoses but below Goodyear and Milton hoses. Looking at some Dewalt compressors tool and they're positioned above the Husky (Campbell Hausfeld), Porter Cable (lower tier of Black and Decker) and more competitively priced than the industrial targeted brands like Ingersoll Rand, Rolair, Quincy, F.S. Curtis. I especially like the oil filled Dewalt compressors including some that had belt drive.

Stanley Black & Decker owns both DeWalt and Porter Cable, among others, so they took PC’s tech and slapped some yellow and black paint on it.

The accessories, and probably compressors as well are just rebranded stuff anyway

Was at Home Depot the other day and they had 2 styles of DeWalt folding knifes on display. I bought the one in the first picture. Not the fastest opening but its sharp. Keep them in the trucks

Another new DeWalt tool that i noticed is the DCFS950B XR cordless fencing stapler. Good for page wire fencing.

I liked the 12V screwdriver so much I added the 3/8 impact wrench kit too. This thing is really small and light, will be nice for small & overhead fasteners...

I've been using the 12V brushless drill, impact driver, and screwdriver in the wood shop for the last several months and I'm really happy with them. The impact driver has plenty of power on high and good control on low, and the screwdriver has a nice fine adjust clutch that can get very light. The two drivers cover a really wide range of fasteners. The drill has plenty of power, holds bits tight, and runs true. Nothing to complain about there.

They really nailed the ergonomics on these too. So much nicer than the M12 tools I've used.

Without the in-handle battery, they have a much smaller grip than m12 for sure.

I have big hands, so the m12 feels good, but I also like my dewalt 20v stuff a lot too

Do you find your self missing the little bit of power that the m12 has over the dewalt. I have been looking at the dewalt just to try something different but it’s hard to justify buying them when I have the gyro screw driver dewalt makes, m12 fuel 2gen and the m12 fuel surge. I also have the m12 gen 2 fuel drill. Plus I also have the m18 gen 2 and gen 3 drills and impacts along with the m18 surge. But I keep looking at the dewalt 12volt max screw driver mainly or the impact. Don’t really need the drill but for the 150 for the combo seems tempting

No, power is no problem. I'm not sure I'd see much of a use for more power than the 12V Dewalt has.

I have the Gen 1 and Gen 2 M12 Fuel drills They are a good general purpose drill with 1/2 capacity. I also use a DeWalt/Mac 12V 3/8 drill. Better balance and feel for critical drilling jobs than the Fuel drills. Also have a Milwaukee Fuel screwdriver that is used once in a while instead of a impact driver. But its big compared to the DeWalt screwdriver.

When there is any work with ladders on metal and plastic siding or taking apart appliances, basically anything with small screws. The Dewalt 12 volt impact driver and screwdriver are used. The angle and handle shape, just make them more comfortable to use for extended periods.

Hmm sounds like I should get me one of the screw drivers since i could use and screwdriver for the very same reasons. I use the v8 and it works great for the most part but on some items i end using one of my impacts or o also for for to mention that I also have the m12 installation driver too witch I like too, but what can I say I like my toys. Plus I use them just about daily so what not. Plus I have not tried any of the new dewalt stuff and it’s been awhile since I have really used any. Been happy with milwaukee in reality

I couldn't agree more with this. I've got a lot of Milwaukee stuff that I use for wheels, axles, brakes, suspension, and the other stuff where I need the extra beans. For engine work, interior, body panels, etc... This DeWalt 12V stuff is FANTASTIC. The size and weight are exactly what I was looking for to complement, not replace, my M12/M18 stuff.

After using the xtreme 12v screwdriver for a couple weeks, it is quite nice. I loved the old dewalt screwdriver but the new one is better balanced and more comfortable. Seems to be more powerful, it actually torqued out of my hand.

It also seems to spin faster which to me is a plus/minus. It sinks screws easier but I liked to use my old one with unibits to drill wiring holes in roll cages.

The clutch also feels/sounds different. Or it could be my old one needs readjustment. I like to use drill taps with the screwdriver since they are lightweight and don’t seem break the taps. I tend to set the clutch and use it more like an impact. The old one is set fairly high and new one had to be set really low. I need to find a sweet spot or I might revert back to the old one for taps.

The compact head is pretty close to the size of the 20v right angle drill.

This gives me hope for the new drill, the last 12v one is garbage. The old 12v drill gave me buyers remorse, even at $34.

I almost pulled the trigger one the m12 fuel screwdriver this year but with the disappointment of my other m12 tools, I am so glad I didn’t.

Added the 1/2” drill to the arsenal yesterday. I use my dewalt tools everyday and have zero complaints. Can’t wait to add more to my collection. I also have the 4 1/2” grinder but no picture...

That's a sweet little setup. I hope to come across some at one point or another.

I also have the Mac Tools version of the DCF899. Very good. Nice that they offer a boot, too.
